Don’t take apart the front hub until some referencing is done. Do not want to lose the generator ability.
new brake blocks are in order- they are around.
evaluate the rims after some Kroil to the spokes. A chance the tubes are good with the steel valve stems- 99% chance new tires will be needed- mine failed at the bead.
harris Cyclery had the tires.
definitely worth the effort.
I have a later one, no full chain case, a Robin Hood Super Steel bicycle. It fortunately has a 3speed coaster brake in addition to the rim brakes.
there are some alloy 28” rims around ( Europe) that will work... I would consider that if the rims are in trouble- for good braking the wheel has to be true laterally and radially ( as measured off the inside of the rim - not the outside )

GH6 hubs. I have two, one from a Superb and one from a Sprite, both early 70s. Both of these had the large flange/electical connectors on the right. Earlier Raleighs had them on the left. Don't have any idea when or why the change was made or whether it was specific to GH6 or GH8 hubs or what. Also don't know that it makes any difference. I haven't had to mess with either of these hubs for a couple years and don't recall that there was an orientation to the axle, as in a standard Raleigh/SA small flange front hub.
As to the usefullness of the Dynohubs, they're heavy and don't produce as much power as modern generator hubs but with LED lamps, they're plenty powerful enough to light up the road, at least considering the speeds that I can maintain on a Sports. My preference is to use modern LED lights with modern lenses, but, replacemnt LEDs with fittings to match your lamp are available.
