Campy Super Record EPS 12 group
UK Vat Incl. $3981
VAT: $663
Wiggle keeps: $3318
US export price: $3330 (Wiggle keeps it all)
Let's check another. I'll take the next groupset that shows as Available to the US (not surprisingly SRAM does not allow Wiggle to ship their products to the USA, to protect their distribution network)
Yeti ASR Beti SRAM X01 Eagle Build Kit
UK Vat Incl. $1890
VAT: $315
Wiggle keeps: $1575
US export price: $1581 (Wiggle keeps it all)
No difference. You are correct.
let's try wheels:
Campagnolo Bora Ultra 50 Tubular Wheelset Shimano
UK Vat Incl. $2309
VAT: $385
Wiggle keeps: $1924
US export price: $1898 (Wiggle keeps it all)
Canada $1968 USD
virtually no difference.
well clearly, my Crusade has had an impact. Wiggle must have taken notice of my letters, convened a top level meeting and decided to revise their pricing.
mission accomplished.
problem solved.
my work here is done.

I don't care what people in other countries are paying, all I care about is what I have to pay in my own country. If it is a number I can live with then I will buy it. Buying from Wiggle or Jenson in the US is still cheaper for me here in Canada.

With Wiggle shipping to Canada is via DHL. And with DHL 100% of the time you will pay duty. My last order was $126 cad. I paid DHL $35 customs and duty fees (so much for free shipping). Most of the other sites ship via post. With orders through the post duty fees are not always charged. I'm not sure how it works but through the post 70% of the time there are no charges at all.

I used to order a lot of items from Wiggle and CRC, pre-merger. They were my main source for gear and garb. After the merger, I noticed prices increasing and have not purchased anything from them for at least a year (or two) now. Just don’t offer the bargains they used to.

My experience is that Wiggle is likely doing the exact same thing Amazon (and others) do.. ie. dynamic pricing based on lots of little factors including location, other competition, time of day, recent demand, etc. A jersey and some bibs I bought a couple weeks ago, since then have changed price from purchase pricing ~$80 per item, to over $100. Now one of them is back to near where it was, the other is still a bit over $100.

I ordered a lot of dhb kit in a few batches from Wiggle earlier this year to the US (5 bibs, 1 tights, 4 jerseys, 3 base layers, at least a half dozen socks, and a Prime wheelset). Generally very good stuff for the money, but I have noticed that the prices are going up in USD, free shipping is only available now on $100+ orders, and no coupons for awhile. They were pricing up stuff when the coupons were available, but I looked back on my orders, and the line item (after coupon) cost was still a fair bit less then the prices now. I also noticed that some items were simply not available, like the Aeron hot weather jerseys...all summer.
We'll see, I am hesitant to change bib brands from dhb at least because I know they fit me right, and the pads have been solid. Moving up to premium brands would cost 2-3x more too.

Vitus Sentier 29 on Vitus' site: 949.99 pounds. Conversion to dollars: $1185.59. Price for bike at Wiggle or CRC for US buyer: $1399.
Why is Wiggle charging an extra ~18% above the price advertised on Vitus' site?
FYI, I paid $1099 for the exact same bike a year and a half ago. I understand supply chain issues and rising material costs, but $300 more? In a year?

I think it's an interesting topic and worthy of discussion. Certainly more interesting than another "bent tire" or "does the pad in the shorts go on the inside or outside when wearing them" thread.

It's almost like every internet sales website in the internet doesn't update pricing and shipping minute by minute based on their own algorithms. You can watch it in real time on the big ones.
Edit: Of course this was touched upon up thread two years ago.

I wrote to CRC a few years ago.
https://www.chainreactioncycles.com/in/en/prologo-kappa-evo-pas-t-2-0-saddle/rp-prod88814
The shipped to UK price is 44.09 and the shipped to India price is 41.49. The latter should be 37.49. Please clarify.

At CRC our cost to serve differs from market to market. When setting the price of items we must take in all the factors that govern the cost.
These are examples of a few factors that are taken into consideration when determining the price of an item:
• Current cost of the items that are sold in that market by both domestic and foreign retailers
• Shipping costs
• Discounts and promotions
• Seasonal demand
Due to the extensive list of these factors, this can sometimes lead to certain categories or indeed individual products having different prices in different markets at the same time.
We always strive to provide the items at the best possible price to the customer, in which ever market they purchase.
Please Note:
Our pricing strategies adhere to EU pricing Law.
VAT is not added to the price of the item if the country is classified as VAT free.
VAT is not added to the item, if the item is not applicable for VAT.

If Wiggle is transparent in their pricing, they aren't ripping anyone off. You're free to look, compare, and choose. Don't like what you see? Go somewhere else. Whatever reason they may have for pricing things different to different regions, it's unlikely you are going to have any effect on it.

Bike parts are not commodity priced for retail, much as you like them to be. They are definitely a rip off. The good old days of the UK gray market are long gone. Wiggle is no longer ripping you off less than Jenson.
