It is more funny, still, because Salsa is owned by QBP. If there's any industry giant with the resources to get something fixed/changed and quick--it is QBP.

an interesting, dare to say an unique bike but to be honest it tries too hard to meet road and gravel worlds. Who will enjoy road riding with friends when you have over 2 inch 650b tire? And who will feel safe and secure on gravel descends when riding on bike with this kind of geometry (a short bike with short stem). But I applaud bike companies who try to push the envelope. Like a few years back Cannondale did with Slate model and Open with U.P.

Maybe we ought to have a "Dream Bike" category - you are dreaming if you think you can actually buy and ride this bike.
In the IT industry we call this vaporware - products which companies claim to have but they are never actually available. The Jamis Renegade Elite is in this category. It doesn't actually exist anywhere.
I wouldn't wait three weeks for delivery of a new bike, let alone three months, or ten like some of you. General availability and reasonable delivery times are basic expectations when buying a bike at these prices. My money would have been returned, willingly or not, and spent elsewhere long ago.
The easiest way for an LBS to loose my business is not call me back and the easiest way for a bike manufacturer to drive me to their competition is to put a gorgeous product on their website, get me excited only to find that it can't actually be ordered, yet, or maybe ever.

I wonder if anybody at Salsa gave consideration to how CRANKY the introduction of the Warroad would make all those people waiting months for their Warbird orders to be fulfilled? Can a product announcement produce NEGATIVE goodwill? (Or is it just on the gravel forums?)

Humor is definitely not universal. Clever references and good natured joking definitely isnt appreciated by all.
Unfortunate, but you can't please everyone.

Salsa’s new mountain bikes were in stock almost immediately upon their launch. I dare say you don’t have your Warbird because they were working on this instead.

Seems basically like the old "sport touring" geometry that was used in many 27x1.25 tire bikes. But, I do not see where Salsa is claiming this is a new category of bike, just something within the existing gravel category that is nudged a bit toward one side rather than the other.

As I stated previously this bike is no better or different than the Giant Revolt Advanced or other similar bikes now available. Only difference is the Giant cost less and has better components.
$3500 gets you a carbon bike, carbon wheels and Ultrega components.
https://www.giant-bicycles.com/us/revolt-advanced-0
$4300 get you a Carbon Warroad Ultegra with alloy wheels. They are nuts.

Giants are always a really good value.
Salsas are maybe a good value with your 15% back by using your REI card...

The frame is custom - hand built from S3 tubes, tig welded and filet brazed and hand painted.
Even so, after receiving a deposit Rodriquez was able to manufacture the frame and get it to my doorstep in under four weeks.
Having a frame custom made isn't the same as purchasing a mass produced bike advertised on a major manufacturer's website.
I rode it 110 miles at 17.7 MPH this past weekend.

Again, i get why you waited and it makes total sense. I also get that you were speaking to something besides custom.
It was simply a funny comment to read so I responded in my own funny way(that clearly was lost). Not everything needs to be a serious game of 'gotcha'.
Its a sweet bike, pretty sure its one of the last with S3 since i dont think they use that tubing anymore(according to something of theirs that i read a few months ago) and all that makes it really neat. Take most of what I say with a grain or two of salt.

I am seriously impressed by the Giant Revolt Advanced 0 but not enough (yet) to pull out the credit card. Going out today in hopes of test riding a Warroad, the Revolt, Cannondale Topstone, a Giant Defy and, weirdly, an Otso Warrakin (heavy but geez it looks sweet in stainless steel). Never tried 650b so looking forward to it...
