How do these ride? I have the GP4000S-II, the discontinued top of the line, and they are amazing in 28mm.

I have no experience with these tires. The description claims they are very close to the GP 4000S II but have a "neutral edge tread pattern and 180tpi casing." I don't need tires right now, but would give these a go for that price.

I found a thread relevant to the subject:

Yep, saw that ad on Facebook this morning. I don't need any tires but at that price I might snag a pair. I've been satisfied with Conti's inexpensive Ultra Sport II, but those discounted GPs don't cost much more.

From the various reviews and user comments, it sounds like the old Grand Prix have less supple sidewalls. Not a bad trade off for a little better puncture resistance.

Great tire. Put lots of miles on a 23mm set on my Daccordi. Cannot compare to 4000s as Ive never used them. Much nicer riding than Ultra Sports. I prefer GPs over Gator Skins.

I have 28mm on a bike and think they are great. Have not ridden GP4000 though so I can’t compare.
