Disc brake bracket looking thing.

i was looking at the old frame today, and i noticed that on the end, where disc brakes would hook on, there is 1 (one) hole for a screw. now, im pretty sure it ISNT for disc brakes, as ONE screw probably wouldnt hold them on overly well, so what exactly is it?

also, my friend is always saying how my bike is a total piece of crap, and i was wondering what you guys think. Its a Nakamura FS 9000, retails for $650 canadian, made by the Forzani group, aka the people who own Sport Chek.

thanks

If it is on the right side (opposite for discs) it could be a bolt for the derailleur...the kind that attatches directly to the axle...as like a mount...not exactly sure...

Doesn't matter if it is crap. Can you ride it? does it go uphill? Canyou afford to upgrade to something else?

i CAN ride and everything, its not like ill only ride it if its 'good' or something, i just wanted to know if its good and such...

i got it for about $200 at a garage sale, and the price tag sticker from the store says $650...

anyway...

For 200 youve got a good bike, Keep it for a year or so, then upgrade if you want to. My youngest bike is 3 years old, rides better than most of my mates, and is fully sorted. New bikes suck for 3 months till you get them sorted.
