Raleigh Model / Name help.

https://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...2#post10842392

The photos of my bicycle are contained in the posted link above (uploading the photos again seemed useless), which is the introduction post to BikeForums. Of course I know it's a Raleigh, and the seller knew it was from the early 1970's, but I cannot find any info on Snipe (as the sticker on the bike suggests) model for Raleigh bicycles.

Any suggestions?

Cheers all,
Art

Not a model I've ever heard of or seen in catalogues, but the style of the Raleigh font on the downtube and that decal on the seat tube is consistent with the 1960s bikes.

Quite an interesting hodge podge! It looks like a '74 Super Course that had additional decals applied! There is a '72 stylized "Heron" on the seat tube, earlier Sixties-esque "Raleigh" Downtube decals and that interesting "Snipe" on the Chain stays.
Is there any evidence of a Carlton rear Brake cable hanger that spanned the seat stays? The fork has a Wagner crown; generally found on Carlton-made Grand Prixs and Super Courses, and Gran Sports; but not on models above or below these. Could this have been purposely re-decaled?

Might be a Snape, named for the master of potions at the Raleigh Carlton School of Wizardry.

Clearly it's a 1966 or 1967 Raleigh Albatross.

Yes, that was the one. Why?

As for the model name, I guess it is still indecisive.

the Raleigh Super Course MK II.

Looks to be my model. Any suggestions?

Hi - I found this site because I did a google search of raleigh snipe as that was the model name of my first bike in the mid 70s. It was a red and white girl's bike with a white satchel - nothing like your pictures.
