Has the Economy Affected Your Cycling Lifestyle?
I'm curious if the economy has affected people with their cycling lifestyle, including travel and buying products? I've never seen anything relating to this question. Thanks for any input.

Working in Bike Shops is a Low Income job .. , the discount on the stuff is the main lure . and being helping people have fun cycling.
only owning one, gaining the surplus value of the employees labor, or moving up the food chain to the importer -distributor
will allow the possibility of the rest of the Breeding package .. House kids marriage ..
Some places the wife was the Tenure track University Professor .. Sheldon's household worked that way , as I understand.
Only fathers estate. the weapons making business pays a lot better , is allowing me something resembling a retirement income.
there are a lot of computer biz people here they probably do better .
a lot of my generation is names on the Viet Nam Memorial wall . what a waste.

Ha. Its affected everything for me. Most of the time I am walking around with my entire savings in my wallet, and sometimes the wallet is empty. I only buy stuff for my bike with profits from bikes I flip. Rarely buy tires, just pick the best from my flippers. I even buy used shorts, jerseys, etc. My helmet is from Costco. BUT I have some really nice bikes to ride!

I have to keep an 18x1.5" piece of oak branch lashed to my top bar that I use to cave in skulls of anyone I see who looks like a EIC-check-receiver or bho-voter.

Being out of work for 3 years has definitely cut down on my bicycle commuting. And since I'm working 7 days a week trying to get back on track, I don't do as much recreational riding.

Yup. Stopped using anything that needs gas. If I go anywhere I walk or ride.

No not really. My Stratus is now 6 years old, and my trike is 3 years old. Im a retire maintence tech engineer, and take absolute top notch care of them, so they will last many many years. About the only cost is a tube now and then, and they dont cost that much.
Look at it this way, when Im out enjoying a ride, I cant spend any money.

If I ever got a raise I would probably buy some new gear. Most of what I have has been around for years and is really showing its age.

Im sure glad I bought my bent and trike when I did. The SRP on by bent has gone up $700 and the trike $200 over what I paid for them. That why I take exceptional care of them.
