Disc mechanical caliper replacement
Hi all,
I was adjusting my rear caliper pad when I gave it too much force and broke it. Now I need to replace it, so I bought a Shamino BR-M375 disc brake caliper thinking they were universal but it doesn’t appear so.
I attached some pictures of my set up. It’s a CO-OP ard 1.1 from REI. Can I get an adapter to make the M375 work, or should I return it and get a different brake? Are my holes standard? Should I just try to buy a replacement of the same kind? The Decode R brakes are about $80 for a replacement rear.. I think I could do better on price though.
i cannot attach photos until I have 10 posts, but I think I can PM the photos if someone would like to take a look
thank you for any input

Ok, your CO-OP bike should be pretty new as they changed the name on them a couple of years ago.
About 4 years ago Shimano introduced what they call "Flat Mount" disc brakes. In particular it moves the rear brake to a spot inside the rear triangle.

I'd get the correct brake, but I'm not quite sure which one.
Can you see any numbers on the old brake once you have it off?

Yes, you can get an adapter to make the post mount brakes work with a flat mount bike. I have no idea how well they work, but since companies such as Shimano and TRP make the adapters, I'm sure they aren't complete hacks.
You probably want to go to a shop to figure which adapter you need. Maybe it's a simple "flat mount to 160mm rear post," or something, but I honestly don't know.
Edit to add: I'll take your word for it that your caliper is broken. From the pictures, there's nothing obviously wrong with it.

Ahhh... so you have the Promax Decode R Flat Mount Brakes.
They actually look very similar to the TRP Spyre brakes.

So, I think the ARD is a Drop Bar bike, And requires a short-pull ROAD brakes. Thus, your Shimano M375 brakes probably are not appropriate.
So, I'd go back to either the Promax or TRP flat mount ROAD/Cyclocross brakes.

One of the more unique brakes that you should also consider are the TRP HY/RD Flat Mount Cable Actuated Hydraulic Brakes.

Hi.. I just got my first road bike with Promax Decode R disc brakes. I'm looking for the right tool to adjust pad clearance. Hex keys don't seem to fit. Could anybody help me on this? Thank you.

What the OP has is a near twin of the TRP Spyre or Tektro MD-C550 Flat Mount brakes. That F:160 adapter is a TRP/Tektro part. Either of these brakes will be a direct replacement for the broken "Decoder" brake.
