The correct number of Grail bikes is n+2.
Craigslist coughed up another Grail bike. I have restored many bikes, but I could use some modern advice on your favorite to use on chrome. I like "worn-out"SOS pads, but there must be better stuff by now. Turtle Wax chrome polish? Is that still a thing?
ALL ADVICE APPRECIATED.
Also need headlight lens and taillight lens. I dont think I need the guts, they seem to be there. Somebody must repop them.
thanks!!

Quick-Glow is the best I have used.
leaves behind a seal to prevent rust.
Got rust? Brass wool and your favorite chrome polish....The brass is too soft to scratch the chrome.....just rubs the rust right off....

Thanks for the reminder. I have 000 brass wool from another project. I have also never tried Quick Glow. I have some NeverDull, but I need to buy more, it dries out really fast the way I abuse it.

I've heard good things about removing rust with crumpled up aluminum foil. It works! I acquired a barn find Legnano with lots of surface rust issues. I have only used it on chrome, aluminum and brass, not painted surfaces. Crumple up the foil, apply polish (I used Turtle Wax chrome polush), give it a try.
Steel crank (aluminum rings) as bought.
Following aluminum foil treatment.
Brass head badge before.
Head badge after aluminum foil treatment.

My advice is to ride it in mostly flat neighborhoods. It's pretty neat, but doesn't look like a great climber.
