Box O’ Crap, Series Seven

I am the new Crap Master. I am in investment wizard and wine snob in the real world, residing in the middle of the country. I think I can handle this too, we shall see!

After 2+ years of most excellent service as Head Cat Chaser, gugie has hung up his special Box O’ Crap keyboard and returned to his tardis for more time/interstellar travel. For some reason, and despite seeing how much effort it takes to keep the ball matriculating downfield, I think I'm ready for this challenge. gugie, we all thank you for your service! And also for being a great caretaker of the BOC game!

Crapmaster Emeriti: @noglider BOCPAG, the box o' crap pass around game. Started 12-1-2010 @nlerner - box o crap pass-around game, started 12-1-2010 @sailorbenjamin - Instant Box of Crap Pass-a-Round-Robin started 8-31-11 @TimmyT - Instant Box of Crap Pass-a-Round-Robin take two: Movement & Passing, started 12-17-2011 @Drillium Dude - Box O' Crap game take 4 (that's right - 4) started 3-30-2012 @gugie - Box O' Crap, sixth edition

Special Metal of Honor: long john for creating something better than an everlasting gobstopper: a metal liner for the BOC to last for months.

Note: if you no longer want to be on the mailing list, please let me know and I will remove you. This is important so as not to hold up the box while someone is trying to PM you for your mailing address If you want to be added, post to the thread and state that you've read the rules and will abide by them, and I will update the list here in this first post. See Rules below for the one eligibility requirement.

Sixth Edition Countdown Complete!!

Thank you for the hand-off gugie

Rules (this is important):

1. If you can't abide by the rules, please don't play
2. Ship within 5 working days of receipt of box (if you're on the list, you should have some crap ready to be put into the box - right?) This is a USPS large flat rate box, with a current shipping cost of $19.95. This just the current price and likely to go up, so your actual cost could be more. If you receive a box that's falling apart, please pick up a new one from the post office-they're free! Also note that this B.O.C. game is only available to those within the USPS flat rate region. Sorry in advance for those C&V forum members that can't play!
3. Remove only crap you intend to use yourself
4. Do not remove crap to sell to somebody else
5. Do not remove crap to pass to somebody else
6. Try to put in as much or more crap than you remove
7. Report receipt via this thread upon receipt (same day shouldn't be too difficult - we're all addicted to this forum and most post daily. Don't suddenly disappear once the box makes it to you). Report via this thread when you've sent the box on to the next member as well.
8. Photograph the box contents as received (not a completely-revealing photo - just the box open and the crap on the top of the pile) and post (this thread is worthless without pics and all that...)
9. Photograph what you took out, but not what you put in - it's supposed to be somewhat of a surprise.
10. Bonus if you photograph the take parts once mounted or used, even if it is a long time before you use it. Not a requirement, but I think this might enhance the thread and I know I would enjoy seeing a part I contributed getting used.
11. Players must have 150 posts or more. This, of course, is to facilitate PMing to pass/receive mailing addresses. Additionally, if you're serious enough to post this many times, you're part of the community and much less likely to be jumping onboard just to get some free crap .
12. Please, no completely worthless, borked crap (unless, of course, it's a cat-toy or has a string tied around it signifying its use as a small boat anchor).
13. Ultraspontane has unwittingly prompted us to add the following guidance: The BOX OF CRAP is a CRAPSHOOT and you may not like the CRAP in the BOX. There may be absolutely nothing in the box of any value to you. Even if this is the case, you will still be expected to spend $18.90 to mail the BOX OF CRAP on to the next person. If you aren't ok with that, don't play the game; it's that simple, really.
14. If you take more than 10 days to ship the box, you're banned for life. Right now we’ve got Ultraspontane, Road2you, and mtnbke on this list. I hope not to add anyone else.
15. PM the next person in line (don't ask me!) for a ship to address. Don't post it here, respect everyone's privacy.
16. If you're on deck, in the hole, or otherwise getting close to your turn, and you know you're going on vacation, have to drive the kids to college, or have temporary crap going on, you can post here or PM the CrapMaster (me), and I'll move you down the list a bit on the sly based on what you feel you're more comfortable meeting your BOC responsibilities. I won't make you get to the end of the line. The list is not writ in stone, I can copy and paste with the best of 'em.
17. When requesting a new place in line, please let the Crapmaster know the number of times you have played.
18. Please don't take photos of address labels on the box or post tracking info publicly to respect everyone's privacy. I don't think anyone does this intentionally, but we just want to remind everyone. For tracking info, please limit to private messages.

Okay! Once I receive the box to end the Sixth Edition of the Box O’ Crap, Series Seven will begin.

“One word: KARMA. Make sure you do the right thing so the Karma you get is the kind you want.”

If you would like to be added to the list, please let me know, but don't forget, this session will not commence until the completion of the Sixth Edition which still has six more to go including me.

While I would agree, you are going to have to help me with what you are referencing?

Paragraph 2 of post #1.

Also, might I be added to the Series 7 rotation? Many thanks!

You used an ‘F’ in place of the apostrophe.

Unless I am missing something, the only ofs, were likely copied from the previous thread. But I can correct. My titles are correct though right? The things that can’t be changed?

First - I'm going to refrain from joining your list. I may well do so in the future but I have too many irons in the fire right now.

Second - A box of parts suitable for series of Seven bicycles? Crap? I doubt I own anything that worthy.

Well feel free to join when ready. Seven bicycles, had not thought of that, but there is a reference there...

Absolutely could not resist. The setup was too perfect. From here it'll be nothing but crappy parts discussion.

I believe that there are two apparently offending instances of "of" in the 3rd paragraph of the 1st post; at the time of this writing, anyway. If they're accurate renditions of the post headings made by Emeriti, then I'd argue that they have to be accepted on that basis.

In the past I have resisted/ignored BOC, but boredom/curiosity has gotten the better of me, and I believe have some worthy crap; so I affirm that I have read the rules as found above, and quoted below (so that the Grand High Crapmaster VII cannot modify them, regarding my participation, without my assent), and agree to abide by these:

"1. If you can't abide by the rules, please don't play
2. Ship within 5 working days of receipt of box (if you're on the list, you should have some crap ready to be put into the box - right?) This is a $18.75 flat rate box.
Even if this is the case, you will still be expected to spend $18.75 to mail the BOX OF CRAP on to the next person.
"

PM sent to G.H. Crapmaster VII
