Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Back in 1996 I left my law firm employer to go in-house with a client on a short schedule. On the final day at the firm I didn't have enough capacity to carry all my personal stuff down to the taxi. I went to the office of a close colleague, took a painting down off her wall, hid it in a corner and replaced it with my framed PA Supreme Court admission certificate. I asked another colleague how long he thought it would take her to notice. He said she'd notice right away. It took her months. Even funnier, is that she sent it back to me maybe 3-4 years ago.

This print is one of the few things hanging in my office. It's No 152 of 152 since they were handed out in alphabetical order and I was last on the list.

In different thread in a different forum a different poster attributed "Knockin' on Heaven's Door" to Guns N' Roses.

Sad.

Ha. Could have been worse. If you ever want to repeatedly facepalm, search youtube for "do teens/college kids know [insert decade of choice] music?"

I worked with Fiona Hill back in the 80s. She was an accountant, so probably not the same Fiona Hill.

Tomorrow’s ride has start temp around 28F. Not that bad. Some of my friends are already starting to make excuses to skip the ride.

I might go out for something short, but it will also be a good day to start on winterizing the boat and doing the food shopping.

Nice wall art. That rescue at sea cert is quite something. Kudos!

This is on my wall. I'm not at work, so you don't get the framed version. A little wrinkled, because it came with my pal from Oz.
