once was given a random alum throw away frame. i decided to build it as a tool to learn wheelies. had a steel fork mounted backwards to shorten the wheel base and raise the front end. it made the tiring task of pulling the front wheel up effortless.

whats funny isneverytime id ride it to a friends he'd start with the "doooo do doondo doond doo do" circus melody of when a clown was performing. i thought it was raher hilarious----- n wish i had the courage to take pics. cuz i'd definitely belong in this thread.

The unfortunate truth with bars faked as much as these is the only way to acquire a genuine pair is to buy new from official dealer.
Flip side is there are really good knock offs.

I want the 3T Aeronovas...but I keep telling myself the flat tops are just a passing fad and my Ergonovas are fine...maybe one day.

Those are on my list too; as an either or for the enve's above.

The only problem I have is justifying the price when my roadie cockpit is "perfect" as it stands right now.

Well speak for yourself after riding with a pair. It's a world of difference even if you ride on top of your hoods most of the time.

The flat tops are for freds to use, but the flat palm areas are for us.

negative. function > form
spoken like a realist who doesnt possess the skill/talent to benefit from such a minute decrease in drag, or the increased rigidity.

they're ugly unless they're on the appropriate bike piloted by someone worthy.

You missed the point....

"Appropriate" as in you gotta pay to play.

I dunno, in a sport where a race can be won in a matter of seconds and saving watts is key over a long ride, I bet they'd help even the most novice racers in 100+ mile road race.

Are many of us racing 100+ mile road races...maybe some, but they still look badass on a nice carbon bike.

theyre ugly regardless of what theyre mounted on. in the hands of a dominant rider theyre tolerable as the rider becomes more of the focus than his equipment.

merely another media fueled trend like tri guys sittig on the nose of their saddle.

i dont see em on sagan's bike... hmm

The whole compilation is gold, but this... this... I can't stop wondering what happened before the clip starts

Edit: okay, it doesn't copy the timestamp when embedding a video it's at 1:23, or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g_A9gzQyGzc&t=1m23s
