Is this bike worth $900?
Hi, I'm fairly new to this and I was wondering if this used Bianchi Pista is worth 900???
This is what the ad said:
Blue Bianchi Pista frame, deep v wheels with machine side walls
Nitto123 drop bars
46/17 gear ratio with flip flop
All parts (wheelset, crankset, etc) have not been ridden
Will include tape, pedals, front brake set, chain
And if it were a good deal, would you guys advise changing this bike into a road bike? I'm not into fixies and this is more in my price range than a brand new bike and it's in my size. Please let me know anything I should know.... Thank you so much!

It depends on your definition of a "road bike." I consider all my SSFG bikes that I ride regularly on the road to be "road bikes." Not all "road bikes" have gears, ya know.

Funny, I call mine a singlespeed road bike, because that's what it is. Just like cross bikes can be either multi-speed or single-speed.
Now, IDK what the OP wants or if the OP even knows what he/she wants. One thing I do know is that these discussions are often chock full of assumptions without any basis, other than the preconceived notions of the poster.

I call my ss and my fg just "single speed and fixed gear". But when people dont know about bikes I just say I have road bikes with no gears

That's a slick little set-up. I would've face the binder bolt on the derailleur hanger the other way tho.

No no, you call it a "Fixie", especially if it is actually a single speed... right? Ahem.
I do agree that the terms "single speed" and "fixed gear" technically should have nothing to do with the type of bike. My Electra Rally Sport is a single speed.... and even though it has racing stripes, it is not even remotely a "road bike".
Terminology can get a bit weird, though. I see people referring to geared bikes (often IGH) as "fixies", because they look like "fixies".
Basically, it's a bit unpractical to try to identify the type of bike solely by the type of drive train...It's a bit like identifying your bike by the material it's made of, yes it's relevant information, but it isn't enough information...

Road bike. Track bike. Tarck bike. Fixie (that's what I call my neutered male cat). Fixed gear. Single speed...blah, blah, blah...
