Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

trek serial number lookup for Madone (don't know which year or submodel)

I need a new seat post, so am trying to get the specs for my bike (seat post diameter), but don't know which Madone year/submodel. It's a USPS model.

I've looked at all the suggestions on how to look up Trek SNs, but none help. It starts with WL.

Any help would be much appreciated!!!

I think I am looking at the serial on a 2009 Trek Madone I bought used on ebay. The thing about this serial number that seems impossible: the only place I can find it is on a sticker on the bottom of the bottom bracket. I don't see anything that could be a serial number on the frame except on this sticker. A serial number cannot be only on a sticker, because it can be removed.

I have tried searching this topic and have not found anything of much help.

So, again, my problem is determining what the serial number is and where I can find it on the frame.

Any information you can provide would be appreciated immensely.

Thank you.

I think I found the answer to my question on a video showing where to find serial numbers. Tbe video shows stickers that look like the one I have here, so I guess the serial numbers on these bikes are on stickers.Seems like it would be pretty easy to remove the serial number, making recovery of a stolen bike a lot harder. Such is life I guess.

Can't mold a serial number into carbon.

My Colnago I bought new has a single serial number on a sticker under the BB too.

Depending on what model Madone you bought you could have a regular seatpost or a seat mast. I believe the regular seat post models, like the 4.5, are a 27.2 diameter seatpost.
