Lauf Grit Gravel Fork?
Anyone use a Lauf Grit fork or know anything about them?It's got a leaf spring gizmo. Pretty interesting idea.
I'm not thinking of getting one, more of a curiosity than anything.
Ugly though...

A friend has one. You lose some steering feel and the steering is less precise on rough surfaces than a rigid fork.

Steve from RodeoLabs mounted one to his Trail Donkey. He digs the feel. Catch being it uses a 47mm trail, and has IIRC a 410mm (?) axle-crown...so finding a frameset that it doesn't screw with the geometry on will be an odd challenge.

If they can figure out the geometry, I like this idea. Lauf is fairly well regarded for their similarly designed fatbike forks. This fork seem like a durable design for gravel with no moving parts.

Josh Kato used a Lauf fork in the 2016 Tour Divide race.

He DNF'd because he got run off the road by a truck and wrecked his knee. It will be interesting to see if he keeps that fork for the 2017 race, if he does it.

Which may or may not be a good thing. The overlong axle-crown (in most dropbar bike cases) reduces HTA a degree or 2, and increases trail....which are generally good things for off-road riding (up to a point ofc). OTOH you raise the BB off the ground some more.
That 410mm spec is just perfectly screwey for most bikes. Too short for monster-CX/MTB, too long for most dropbar framesets. Not sure what they were thinking.

There is a guy here who just recently built up a new gravel bike and has this fork on it. I haven't ridden with him since you built the bike so I'm not sure what his thoughts are on it. He did Middle Georgia Epic last weekend with it.
