My new Cinelli Mod. 65 Criterium handlebars...

... just arrived yesterday. I had 40cm wide Criteriums, and found them to be too narrow 35 years later, so i found some new handlebars in the 44cm width. Apparently Cinelli has reintroduced manufacturing of a few of the classic bars, in a milky satin finish, 26.0 diameter, which was what I had on my bike. So for the low end price of used bars, i bought a new set.

A "new" set of Modolo Anatomical gum hoods have already been mounted on the brake levers via the dish washing liquid method. Easy peasy. Wrapping to commence as soon as I have time. I hope to ride this weekend, though 103-105 degree temps don't seem too promising

One thing to note, the lower drops are about an inch shorter in length than my original bars.

I'm over in Hanford, I feel your pain. Supposed to be 107 today, but the weatherman assures me it will only "feel" like 105. So that's a relief.

Where did you find the bars? I would like to get a pair to put on a fixed gear Miyata I'm building.

You've taken that picture at just the right angle to make it difficult to see the '65' curvature. Insidious pic-taking batard!

sorry about that. it wasn't even tightened, the angle of the drops are incorrect.

As a fan of wide bars, I think I'd like the 44's. I've got some old 26.4 42's but I'm not sure I'll use them. Looks like a nice ride, show us pics!

i've got some tires coming from the UK. i'll mount those on a "new" wheelset, and post photos afterwards.

I didn't know Cinelli has re-introduced some old bends. The criterium shape is very pleasing to the eye. I'm interested to see what the milky satin finish looks like next to the stem and wrapped with your grip.

Nice Bianchi Campione d'Italia

Hey thanks!
I thought i had seen three bars a week or two earlier, but there are only two currently on Cinelli's web site, the Criterium, and the Giro d' Italia. I'm not sure when they started offering these two bars:

https://www.cinelli-usa.com/cinelli-criterium-bicycle-handlebar/
"The Cinelli Criterium 65 handlebar returns for fans who want to revive the thrill of the sprint, hammering full throttle on their pedals. Historically, this is the bar of choice for countless track and time trial races. The 6061 Aluminum from which the handlebar is made easily passes recently updated European racing standards."

https://www.cinelli-usa.com/cinelli-64-giro-d-italia-handlebar/
"Another classic reissue, the Cinelli 64 Giro d’Italia handlebar is back on the scene. Ideally suited to road racing needs, the 6061-T6 aluminum stands up to the most severe test of European standards. Available in 40-44cm widths."

Are Cinelli bars measured on centers or outside to outside?

The Cinelli web site does not specify. My new 44cms are center to center. i believe i've read on many other online sources as well that they measure center to center.
