The headline is strange, but the story is all too common. A thief attacked a cyclist with a hunk of metal (and sausages) and took his bike. Check out the SoCal forum and you will see countless such stories. The only difference here is that the assailant was caught.

And there was I, thinking that a Critical Mass rider was attacked. I'm slightly baffled by the idea of using the sausages first, keeping th wrench in reserve in case they didn't work

Well it's pretty common knowledge that, in terms of pure knock- down power, it's hard to beat 2 lbs. of a quality Bratwurst.

Reminds me of the famous story of **** von Bismarck challenging Rudolph Virchow to a duel, at which point Virchow, as the one who had the honor of selecting weapons, chose two pork sausages, one infected with the roundworm Trichinella. The two would each choose and eat a sausage. Bismarck declined

Apparently meat as a weapon is serious business.

EDIT: I have no idea why the first name of a German kaiser is censored. May want to check the censor lists.
