TXBRA.org = The Texas Bicycle Racing Association

^ post there, you'll get responses. Also they host the official road / cx / track calendar for the state

Driveway Series

^ "the driveway" is one of the best weeknight series around. Wrapping up for the year now, to return in the spring.

I was going to post "Isn't Austin one of the centers of road cycling in the US?"

How big is the racing scene? What are races like/how many are there/typically how far? What is the team situation like? Stuff like that.

We always have frequent flyer points to blow; I've been tempted to fly out to Austin just to do the Driveway Series and check the town out.

racing scene is great. driveway crit happens every week for 6 months out of the year. today's the last one. There are other, smaller races within an hour (2 max) drive that's also once a week. For the major races, the DFW area has a lot of crits. road races are fewer. the biggest road races are in september.

like any cycling city, there are plenty of teams, ranging from a bunch of guys with the same jerseys to organized elite amateur and pros.
