The Drive Side is Within
Skinny Skewer?
Ok so I have a set of NOS performance bike CR18 27” wheels and all
of my rear skewers are too thick to fit into the axle!
the threaded parts go in but that’s it. Does anyone have a parts bin skewer that is maybe threaded for the entore length or of a narrower diameter than usual. Now I know why this wheelset was unused!

I found a very nice ‘72 Pro but the seat binder bolt is damaged. I have read it is a Dutch style where the non drive side ear is threaded. I read that it is an M6 ? I measured it to be approx 25mm long; I believe based what I can tell that maybe it originally took a 5mm Allen key. Does anyone have an extra they would sell/trade or tell me where I can buy? Many thanks! Steve
Then off to the hardware store for a very suitable substitute as I don't think that one is original.
If the head is stripped I would soak with penetrant then find a torx or bigger allen wrench to tap carefully into it to get it out, sometimes you can find an inch fraction size just a little bigger to get a bite with.

Just don't assume that the front hub matches. Many Raleigh bikes were sold with 24 tpi parts as they used up inventory from all the the Birmingham companies they absorbed in 1960. SA rear hubs weren't sold in pairs with the fronts and weren't always specified as such on many bikes.
I have a well marked jar of Raleigh 26 tpi nuts, a jar of of 24 tpi nuts as well as metric nuts from France, Germany and elsewhere. I use these to determine thread pitches Don't get me started on Whitworth anomalies.

Thread pitch is very close to 1mm
There are 26 threads in an inch if you count carefully. Parallax is not your friend here.
I'm also certain it's 5/16 after seeing other Phillips hubs and parts available. That's said, there's nothing preventing use of an adjusting cone on the drive side. I could mark it to avoid confusion when installing the wheel.

clubman, are the smaller cones you offered compatible? The donor wheelset I checked out today was in similar condition with completely incompatible hardware.

Do you know the axle ID dimension, or at least the OD of the skewers that are too large?

Maybe you really need a good donor wheel, complete and correct. I can send them to you if you'd like but remember that most of these cones are meant for 90 mm hubs which may not be the best fit for a 100 mm fork. I'd go with a standard hub with locknuts for that Falcon.
PM if you want them.

I'm restoring a middling 70's French 10-speed and hoping to find some replacement and upgrade parts.I've dressed it up with some parts and looking to do more. Seeking:
Dust cap crown nut for 70's Lyotard Berthet pedals or good used or NOS pedals
Alloy/lighter weight seat post to replace the original steel. 25mm dia
Alloy/lighter weight handlebars to replace steel. Existing bars are 25mm dia at center attachment to stem, quickly tapering to 23mm overall. If I need to replace the stem to accommodate the replacement bars, the stem diameter appears to be a sniff under 22mm.
I saw some likely Motobecane bars on ebay but I'd like to deal within the forum community for all of the less risk and friendlier reasons. If anyone can help, thanks!

Argggh.
I have just got to the end of re-furbing these nice french pedals and found one cone has a fractured lip (l-r: broken, good, good from other japanese pedal):
These cones are thinner that any of the japanese and Lyotard cones I pulled out of the parts pedals, and although the japanese ones will thread on (the Lyotards won't - too small) the profile is so much bigger they won't do.
I doubt these are available separately - does anyone have an otherwise unusable atom pedal?
If you do, let me know what you're looking for (if you haven't already posted here) as who knows, I may have it. Got bins - BINS I tell you - full of old parts.

Edited to add that the cone seems threaded for a 7mm spindle.
14mm flats
5.5mm length
~2mm thick shoulder
NOT unblemished. I've tried to picture the worst of the wear. The cone on the left has a burr from tapping the threads on the inside. Shown below.

ISO Cinelli 1-A handlebar clamp bolt, original or anything that fits.
Actually, I could also just buy a complete stem if you have one. About 100-110 mm, 26.4 clamp (older/larger size).
PM me.
Thanks.

47-tooth 84 BCD chaininring
I'm looking for a 47-tooth 84 BCD chainring, preferably an SR, although a Stronglight would also work. No idea if there ever was such a thing--I have had both 46s and 48s, but have never seen a 47. So naturally, my ideal half-step setup calls for a 47.
If I can't swing that, I would trade my 48-44 rings for a 46-42 combo. Mine are not new, but not badly worn.

Yes, an 86 is what I'm looking for. I may have chainring dyslexia--I not infrequently write 84 when I mean 86, and 76 when I mean 74.

I see it's a 1st Gen Cyclone GT RD but was hoping to see what the actual spring looked like (broken or bent) since that's what I'm trying to make a visual match to. BUT took a look for where I thought the spare spring should be and it's not at the top of any pile so will require a much deeper dive to find it, anyway.

If I'm not mistaken, that spring is the same one on the VGT Luxe rear derailleur (maybe others). If you've got a banged-up one of those in the box of crap, you might be able to cannibalize it.

Hi oneclick! thanks for responding to the search for a Lyotard dust cap. It's got ten sides, ID is about 20 mm OD is about 22mm. I don't care if the logo matches as long as it's the right size and threads which it probably is. Wanted to send PM but am not up to 10 posts yet. You can email:

ISO: A pair of Grand Bois 650B fenders. No real rush for these, but I know they're a fair PITA to find too:
