I have a Specialized Diverge. I mostly ride on pavement but sometimes on trails and it works well for me in both situations. I'm not looking for a second bike.

Thank you everyone for all the feedback. I think the best option is like some say, get a used bike, try it out and figure out what i do like. I will enjoy the ride during that time and figure out what really fits my need.

Get a bike. Ride around. See things. Have fun. Be good.

Find out if your local bike shop rents bikes. Then you can try out a road bike or a gravel bike (or mountain) and see if you have a preference for where you most likely would wan to ride (pavement/gravel/trails, etc).

if you don’t really know what you want, I suggest you buy a series of cheap used bikes in order to learn what kind of riding you prefer and what kind of bike fits you.

I am a newbie corona-rider too. Since I started cycling in April, I’ve bought 4 used bikes, plus one for my wife. I sold one of them and plan to sell another. And I am going to look at another used bike today. It’s fun for me.
