you don't have to in this case. you killed it. lost buchmann, bernal and roglic but end of tour points with pinot coupled
with kuss' stage win = smokin it. well done in winning the dauphiné convincingly.

my master plan in previewing a buncha guys for the tdf-none priced higher than 14 points-worked out okay.
sivakov and buchmann (hope he's able to race it) and formolo and barguil and guillaume martin looking good.

team ef and martinez looking like they are ready to compete or at least throw a monkey wrench into the proceedings.

We are a league of 3 island nations and we'll give Trollstigen partial credit for all the fjords.

Is this the right forum for trash talking in the fleeting moments that I'm crushing it in Tirreno-Adriatico? Because I will be as soon as that slacker George bangs out some results. Maybe the Tissot boys can lend him a hand.

So, I got curious and did some Googling. According to one website, Norway only has about 55,000 islands, putting it in distant 3rd place behind Sweden (~221,800) and Finland (~188,000). Denmark claims only 406 islands. But that number reflects the modesty of Danes: they don't count the Faroe Islands or the many islands of Greenland. Today's 3rd place finisher and Trollstigen team member Magnus Cort is from the Danish island of Bornholm in the Baltic Sea. Teammate Mikkel Bjerg is also from an island: Copenhagen. (~3/4 of Copenhagen's population lives on the island of Zealand and ~1/4 on the island of Amager.)

Jacob Fuglsang was born in Geneva... but he's my pick for winning Tirreno-Adriatico anyhow.

^ wow. I'll have to be careful about what I say around here.

Interesting though. Off the cuff I'd have put money on Indonesia / Philippines for being up there, but they're off the back by an order of magnitude or two.

Compared to the splendor of Vanuatu, Pitcairn (pop 50) and BIOT / Chagos Archipelago (pop many but 0 citizens, sort of the Palestinians of the Indian Ocean) are carrying some severe baggage.

Well, since this is the place...

Don't worry. Things will tilt toward the heavens and you can get up real soon. It'll be like Catholic mass.

I may go to the confessional to repent for all those points I spent on Bling.

Behind my effortless bravado, I confess to being a little nervous that Trollstigen isn't further behind AND is packing Fuglsang. I hope that Trollglsang doesn't bite me. Worst case, my being vulnerable here and so clearly in touch with my emotions will score me big points with the ladies when my VG team doesn't put some velobacon on the table.

Oh, I think you can relax. Fuglsang finished 139th yesterday and 92ndth today. Surely he can't possibly come back from that deficit...

as far as i can tell...fuglsang is a whole 1.07 minutes behind ackermann at the end of stage two unless i'm reading things wrong (are there time bonuses?).
i like fuglsang's chances against a bunch of sprinters once the road tilts upwards...which it will. slcbob has dead to him (and everyone else) meintjes which
should be an automatic dq.

^ these are desperate times, 2020.

Lazarus Meintjes could be a costly mistake.

I'd like to thank the lads for doing a lot of work to put me in the right place to win the BF league of Tirreno-Adriatico. I'm glad I could come through for them at the end after all the work they did. I thought we might ease off a bit after lapping the (s)pokes and getting a good lead on the trolls, but there's just so much hunger to win in this team they kept driving it all the way to the line. It really was an honor to finish it off for them and we'll see how the legs are in the Giro after using the Tour as a work up.

nice job, slcbob and team X Merckx The Spot, in crushing tirreno-adriatico. that trident has still got to be the coolest cycling trophy awarded.
yearly winner should be allowed to mount it to their frame and take it out once every other race/stage race and spear the
rider/ds/race official/course motorcyclist/fan of their choice with it. how the hell did you wring 162 points out of meintjes?
