Comparing a Peugeot Grand Sport road bike and a Schwinn Le Tour - pros and cons?
Hi there, I've done some research on these bikes I found on craigslist I'm interested in, but I'm not familiar enough with bikes in general to say which one I should go for. They're both in my price range so I guess it's not a matter of appraising them exactly, but if someone could maybe give me some advice as to the pros and cons of each one based on the name and the photos, I'd be really grateful and would help me learn a lot! Here's the Peugeot: Peugeot Grand Sport and here's the Schwinn: Vintage 18"/56 cm Schwinn Road Bike
I'm mostly going to be commuting to/from work here in Boston (about 8 miles round trip), with some recreational rides here and there for further distances.
Thanks so much in advance!

Still learning
Study up on bike sizing first. The Peugeot appears to be a 56cm frame, for riders 5'8"-5'10".
The Schwinn is about 50cm, for riders under 5'4".
You can look at the frame steering tube where the fork is inserted and see the differences. Sellers often get the measurements wrong.

Both these bike are suitable for the type of riding you describe. The Peugeot looks like it really has had the tune up the ad says. The Schwinn (in the one bad photo) does not look like it even has oil on the rusty chain. Most bike on Craig's list need maintenance before they can be ridden safely and reliablely. If you can do it your self great, otherwise you should see what a local bike shop will charge.

At this price level, you have to move fast. Very surprised either is still available.

Thanks for pointing out the misinformation regarding the size of the Schwinn, it definitely won't fit me at 50cm. And yeah, I was kind of suspicious about the low price of the Schwinn and the bad angle of the photo. I'm checking out the Peugeot tonight! That being said I'll definitely take it to the local bike shop for them to look over. Thank you everyone for the advice and tips!

Hope this is not too late, but looking at the Peugeot photo again the fork is bent. The right side of the handlebar is forward and the left side of the fork is forward. It is either really bent of the stem is really twisted.
