Racine Co. WI (pics)
Here's a 25 mile ride I do every few weeks. Fairly flat, but the farm roads are quiet and very relaxing. I start at Heg Park in the town of Norway. When I was younger, we never rode down here because it was 'nothing but cabbage and sod farms!', but with traffic getting heavier in other parts of the area, I've discovered new roads and there is more than cabbage and sod in Racine County.
We start near the church in the town of Norway:

There are a number of stones here dating back to the Civil War, including Colonel Heg himself. Onward we go, heading south.
The middle part of Racine County is fairly flat, with gentle rollers. Here, we are right on the edge
of the hillier western part, near the Fox River. Some days, when you're dragging and just happy to
be on the bike, this is the perfect ride.
One of the many snowmobile trails crosses the road here:

Planting time:
Entering the small town of Rochester, WI. Not too far from the
Waterford Bicycle factory.
But enough traffic, we'll take the quiet trail:
Why are we taking the trail? ( you may ask yourself )
Because it goes by "THE BUNKER" !
That yellow wing has actual bullet holes in it, and there is a "VC"
in that tower with a wide brimmed hat.

Another 3 or 4 miles and we're almost done. Here's the Malchine Farm after
which Malchine Road is named:
Up a small climb and back to Heg Park which is a small historical site with several
log cabins:
Total trip about 25 miles. If you're in the area sometime, check it out.

Yup! looks like a nice area to ride. I can't understand how people who live in metro areas can look forward to there rides. I personally enjoy the peaceful and quiet rural areas myself. then again if it is all you have I guess I would ride in the city also.
