Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I don't know that that's technically the name of it--there's not one on the topo map. I've never ridden on this road before and I was a bit worried because there was a detour sign pointing way from it when I turned onto it and if I had to backtrack after climbing I wouldn't I wouldn't have got back home until after dark. #EveningRideWoes

It goes past a quarry!

Taking the heat off Texas!

Also, as we knew, so much for the thought that it would go away in warm weather.

What shop was it?

Don't feel too bad, none of the U.S. states trailing you are any surprise on the dumb scale.

I'm surprised that MN isn't on there, with all of the protests. Then again, maybe that's just a matter of testing and demographics that are historically under-served.

Could be. I had a response typed out . . . good thing I re-read it just before hitting submit.

Hard to tell whether the protest bump wasn't offset by some other factor there and elsewhere. Then there's also the fact that the protests occurred outdoors.

Finally got back home last night.

Yeah. I keep telling myself that outdoor transmission, though possible, is much less likely. That's true, right? RIGHT???

What is the protocol for businesses/restaurants in AZ at this time? Is it pre-covid business as usual?

Restaurants in Mpls are open, but indoor capacity is limited to 50% with spacing requirements and masks need to be worn indoors when not at your table. A lot of restaurants have, predictably, also moved as many tables outside as possible (where there are still spacing requirements).

Seems to be the case, from the contact tracing I’ve seen.

This explains the restrictions

https://news.citysuntimes.com/2020/0...e-8pm-tonight/

Mask wearing is mandatory in most cities and towns, but there are no penalties for not wearing one.

My employer allows me to refuse service to anyone not wearing a mask. They are told that mask wearing is required as they enter the store. If they approach me for help, without a mask, I tell them that I'll find someone else to help them.

Tear gas them, we need a control group anyway.

Tell them it's for science . . . oh wait, that won't work, we're talking Arizona here.

Ha! I love the idea of pepper spraying anyone who approaches without a mask. Doesn't even have to be that noxious; just a can of Pam or Boeshield.

Most of the non-mask wearers are teens/20somethings that think they are to cool to wear one, or Karens/Chads that think they are special. We also get many Red Hats that think it's a liberal hoax.

I really enjoy refusing to help the Red Hats, especially when they get irate and start swearing at me..
