I was reading some RChung posts and he mentioned some early days discussions and w/kg calculations by someone now considered to be an authoritative voice on training (I don't recall who). My takeaway was that the guy had concluded that ~4w/kg is a pretty hard ceiling for the non-genetically gifted.

If only there was some way to make my body recover faster before each ride. Even going slow my legs are screaming, but im so close to my goal and I only have 3 days left.

Are you getting a good slug (≥ 20 g) of easily absorbed protein and some quick carbs soon after each ride? It's pretty essential for efficient recovery.

I still have hopes of getting to 4. This week, I started weighing myself in earnest again. I've only gained about 2 lbs from when I stopped weighing myself in the fall, so I'm happy with that and 80kg by April or so should be relatively easy. That'll get me close, but closing the gap by eeking out some more watts and dropping a few more kg could be a challenge.

Does yogurt and peanut butter count? If not then the answer is no.
Usually ill make hot oatmeal with whole milk and mix peanut butter in it. If I have honey ill add that. Yogurt on the side with a banana.

That's the region that I'd need to get to, too. Without any real training last riding season, and with a late start to daily riding, Intervals had me in the 280s, so I think that could eek out some more if I can be disciplined about adding some structured rides to the mix.

Most likely not, but you can look your portion size at the nutritionals on the packages and calculate it. Whey protein is the most complete and efficient way to go. You should also look at your daily protein intake and make sure it matches the requirements for an athlete of your weight and age.
