Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Off the subject, but I think that the other guy with the Squidward avatar has changed it. *Phew* no more confusion. Maybe he saw your avatar and big swingin' post count and decided not to butt heads.

Zero last year on two bikes. But, that was only about 6 months and roughly 1200 miles.

I was thinking about driving the Kelvin Highway tomorrow, but then found out that 14 miles of it is like this. I might still do it if there's absolutely zero chance of rain.

Yeah, no. If the tires are supple and provide good grip, I would stick with tubes until you're changing flats on the side of the road every month or so.

Pretty supple feeling even running at 90 and great grip, much more than the R1s it came with and worlds more than the Conti 4 Seasons on my other bike. At 90 psi and both 28s, the R3 compared to the 4Season is like a marshmallow to a brick. But, no sluggishness, still fast. Time will tell - need more miles on them, but weather and work have no cooperated.

That’s my feeling as well. I am getting a flat roughly every 3000 miles, so sticking with tubes for now.

I like email better, because he can read it and respond when he has a moment, versus the phone ringing in the middle of him doing something, etc. Plus I don't like making phone calls.

Also, he said Tuesday afternoon and he'd email when it was ready. So I emailed and basically said if it's done today I'll adjust my schedule to pick it up.

I went a couple years with no flats, then got three within a single month. Pretty good on average, but that one month was a bear.

LBS responds that it will be ready by 4:15!* I know what I'm doing with MY evening!

* I think he has the same problem I have with estimating how long things will take - I suck at that. I've had to learn to throw in a bucket full of fudge factors whenever I timeline things.
