I was on there for a number of years, back in the day. Learned a lot about rigging and performance sailing, but eventually got tired of it as well. I haven't posted on there in over 10 years or so. I go back every once in a while to see if there is anything new or interesting in the sailing world or if I run into a dead end fixing something, but find the site has pretty much jumped the shark.
I go back and search my screen name occasionally. They still talk about me.

I met the guy I do most of my ocean races with on SA, where we had endless political arguments, which he decided he wanted to continue on night watches. When he came up for CCA membership, he was advised to quit posting. Apparently it was muy frowned upon there. Another guy I know from there, serial tech and VC CEO and big shot at the St. Francis YC, also had to stop posting for reputational reasons. Place had a really toxic reputation in the more staid and serious quarters of the sport.

I was thinking about driving the Kelvin Highway tomorrow, but then found out that 14 miles of it is like this. I might still do it if there's absolutely zero chance of rain.

Pretty supple feeling even running at 90 and great grip, much more than the R1s it came with and worlds more than the Conti 4 Seasons on my other bike. At 90 psi and both 28s, the R3 compared to the 4Season is like a marshmallow to a brick. But, no sluggishness, still fast. Time will tell - need more miles on them, but weather and work have no cooperated.

That’s my feeling as well. I am getting a flat roughly every 3000 miles, so sticking with tubes for now.
