6700 Ultegra brakes compatability

I have 6700 shifters and currently have FSA brakes. I would like to get 6700 but I see 6800 are same price. Are they compatible? I know they will work but is the performance better, same, less?

Also to another question my Wilier GT 6700 and thinking of upgrading to 6800 or the new 8000 the 6800 on my other bike is just so much smoother. The Wilier shifts and work fine it is not a money issue just looking for upgrade in performance with less pull on shifting. I would also get 11 speed which I don't really need but is just nice if I go to mountains. Does this sound stupid? I just find the 6800 on my other bike is like a dream almost shifts itself.

I've put 6800 brake calipers on a couple of bikes... just not with Shimano shifters.

I just love the 6800 calipers

They have excellent stopping with my first generation Super Record-11 levers.

For one thing, they have a very symmetrical pull. Both arms pull evenly. I don't know if that makes a big difference, but it is nice.

Are they heavier than the 6700's? Anyway, sorry, no direct experience with the 6700 or other Shimano levers.

The 6800-series brakes require a somewhat longer cable pull then the 6700 so using them with older levers will reduce the force required at the lever but require more lever pull.
