Humorous incident...

I hope no one finds this objectionable, but this happened to me last Saturday & I feel an urge to share it.
I'd performed an internet search to locate a helmet mounted mirror. The WEB informed me that Dicks Sporting Goods carry them.
I drove to Florence Alabama, their nearest store, to purchase one.
After searching the shelves/racks I approached a salesman.
He informed me that "The website contains many items that we do not normally carry, you see, we're the smallest dicks around."
My wife & I lost it! I laughed until I hurt.
Everyone have a great & safe day.

I think what happened is, wy0mn told his fun story, Jeff-o said "I bet he uses that joke whenever he can" meaning "he" was the Dicks sales guy, wy0mn thought Jeff-o said to everybody else on the forum that wy0mn keeps repeating the same story all the time, got all crossed and melodramatic and buggered off. Or something like that, not that it matters a lot...

Ah, so is that what happened? Well, if wy0mn is reading this, when I said "he" I meant the Dicks guy. It made sense to me...

I have a friend at work whose wife called him at the office one day because she wanted to buy some sports equipment for their son. He told her to check out Dick's Sporting Goods website. So she navigated her browser to www.dicks.com. Hilarity ensued.

Quite simple guys.
My wife intercepted a message from a former lover of mine, via PM.
Wifey used my ID to blast said lady privately & to make me look boorish publicly.
I've asked the administrators to remove my ID.
This lady is trying to save her marriage & I am trying to save mine. We're having a tough time surrendering 100%, but it must happen.
If you read this, G'bye Janey.

Save your marriage. The forums aren't worth that. But when the dust settles. Sign on as someone new and remove all indications of your former self.
Good luck.

Dang... I clicked on this thread because the title was "Humorous incident".

BikeForums is the greatest. Where else could you get this kind of entertainment?

It was a funny story. Good luck saving your marriage. It wasn't good of your ex or your wife to spar on the forum, but then again, I can sympathize with your wife having been there before. Nevertheless, as this is a biking forum and the topic is what it is, the Dick's Sporting Goods in my area isn't very good with specialty items. They have some splendid bikes for many uses. I'm looking for a mirror for my helmet, in particular. Anyone have any suggestions where to look? Thanks, Missy

Missy, I'd suggest a Take-A-Look mirror. I just googled it, and the first result that came back is:
https://www.teamestrogen.com/products.asp?pID=4043

I got mine at REI. I actually prefer a bar-end mirror, but this is the best helmet mirror I've seen - among other things, the mirror is glass so you can actually see things in it, as opposed to blurry polycarb or whatever the others use.

HTH,

This has got to be the most entertaining 'Bent forum I've ever seen. LOL We have all kinds of 'bent posts with a little of somebody's love life mixed in add a good dollop of humor and there ya have it. Life's perfect recipe!
