Recumbent What IS that thing?! Recumbents may be odd looking, but they have many advantages over a "wedgie" bicycle. Discuss the in's and out's recumbent lifestyle in the recumbent forum.

Time to diversify.

I expect it's more like 99% of cycling enthusiasts have opened their minds and considered 'bents and decided they would not be the best choice for the riding they want to do. Personally I think they are a great choice for the impaired, elderly or folks who aspire to be the town "character."

Looks like lots of folks posting here are getting bent out of shape by a guy who's bent on spreading his infatuation with 'bent bicycles.

It has very little to do with the design of the bicycle.

It has far more to do with the messenger, and his delivery of the message (aka trolling).

In short, a bunch of people seem to be telling him to get bent.

At this point a good question would be------------------have any of the anti bent posters here actually ridden a bent or a trike for more than 50 miles?

Moved to 'bents from General cycling. We don't allow 'bent evangelism outside of this forum. Sorry I didn't read through it to see if there is any anti-bent bigotry.

Look up the therm “one trick pony.”

And we’ve never seen you on or even with any sort of bike or trike.

That WOULD be a good question if anyone was telling you NOT to ride a recumbent. But after all the threads from you on this topic, I have yet to see anyone do that. So, it's not that we're 'anti-bent', but rather that we just don't give a rip about them. We find our bikes wonderfully functional and efficient as they are, and don't feel any need to switch.

It's one thing to say, "Hey, everybody! I found this new thing that's really great and I wanted to share how much I like it!" and quite another to KEEP SAYING "Hey everybody! I've found this wonderful thing! And if you don't all adopt it, it's because you're closeminded!!!"

I only ride on paved roads and paths, all my bikes work, and they all feel different.
Which is kind of what I was going for.

Like all the shootings and killings every week. I have seen pictures of the water front trail, and think it would be nice to ride there some time. But until the city gets it crime and shootings under control, I will never go there.

Wonder what the crime rate is where the OP claims to live. IIRC, it was Lincoln, NE. But who knows what he’ll claim next?
