Thats a seat cushion. To each his or her own, i personally do not find the OPs bike attractive because i dont like the color and to me the build isnt to my liking, but thats just me. I prefer triple black, grey, silver, or green or blue.

@thehammerdog - if it rides as well as you think it looks - you will appreciate it more with honest patina.

Since I ride mine on the road and on muddy dirt tracks, I usually ask; Is the bike too dirty to ride? (2021 Bianchi Infinito)

OP don’t let me borrow your nice bike.

When I finally got my big fat titanium hard tail fat bike with a lot of silver black and red done I thought it was to pretty to ride.. My Harley riding neighbor straightened me out though. He said "Wow, that bike is totally bad ass but you will get more respect if its totally caked with in mud on the back of your pickup truck. Git yur ass out there and ride it!" Four years later its still sharp but I don't like what mud does to it and at my age, there is no one telling me to stay out of the mud so there is little incentive to go play in it.

My wife's custom built touring bike frame. She thinks it beautiful,

but not too beautiful to ride. That is her bike packed behind the maroon bike with the yellow pannier. As we watched the deck hands load the bikes on the ferry, she said, "it is just a tool. Her computer showed 25,000 miles on it last summer.

I can tell you that if I ever came into possession of a Columbine, I would be too frightened of laying it down to ride it. But in general, bikes are for riding.

I just began riding my brand new bike in between snow storms up here in Massachusetts, and it initially WAS hard to ride it in the streets where I knew mud and road salt would be splashing everywhere.

My efforts to install fenders turned into a 3-weekend task, that caused me much frustration, but all of that angst melted away in the bliss of riding my Quick 4 :-)

Very nice build, but why build if you are not going to ride it!

No such thing!
If you own it you have to ride it.😁

Trailer Queens

At car shows, its either a driver or a trailer queen.
Did you buy it to ride or hang on the wall?

Nothing with black components it too pretty to ride.

The bike does look great, but not precious.

The flip-side to this thread are the people who collect Leica cameras. A beat-up old Leica with lots of scratches, paint wearing off and peeling leatherette on the body gets them weak in the knees, smitten by the camera's beauty!

I don't think it matters if the camera actually works or not; these are collectors, not users.

It's pretty, but... the brakes ruin it for me. Also:

- what frame is that? (I suspect "not a Bianchi", from the seatstays and top tube cable guides...)
- the cable guides on the downtube are on upside-down.

Aha, you've got the cyclocross frame, it explains the canti brakes - very interesting

A bicycle is a transportation tool whether for work, sport, or recreation. If it is not a true collector's museum piece, it deserves at least an occasional stroll down Main Street.

I think this could be a deeper question....whichever makes you the happiest (corny I know)....but if you get more enjoyment starring at the clean, mint condition, barely a scratch bike hung on the wall - do that. If you feel you would be happier riding it and enjoying the feel of riding a thing of beauty - do that.
