Where do the rest of these bikes go? 🤔
Just throw some Shimano RSX on it and call it a day?

For you Zunow peeps. Not sure I've seen a Zunow-branded handlebar before...

The same Japanese seller as the Zunow-branded handlebar has a couple SunTour derailleurs I'd not seen before:

SunTour Mighty-Click (note the cable routing through the parallelogram like a Cyclone)

SunTour Competition (note the Record/Nuovo Record-style badge)

hot dang, a Competition would be perfect for a build where a Cyclone is too new and a V is too ordinary.

It's arguably one of the most significant derailleurs ever made too.

This one was posted about a week ago for $200 in Danville, CA. Now this "see you next Tuesday" is asking $850. Didn't even bother to clean it, writes ad like he's owned it for years...

"
1989 Centurion Prestige, excellent condition. This was the top of the range Centurion model in 1989. Both the frame and fork are built from Tange's best tubing. I have too many road bikes and am trying to find this beautiful bike a new home. The bike is very light and rides very well. It has been stored in a garage and has no rust. Ready to ride!

"Like Reynolds 753, but made from chrome-moly as opposed to manganese alloy, Prestige had the tensile strength to be drawn to super thin-walled dimensions -- only 0.4 mm in the center section with the regular version."

Full Shimano 600 Tricolor groupset

Nitto B115 Handlebar

Nitto Stem

New tubes, tires have a lot of life left and still offer good grip.

$850 OBO"

Them's the breaks. Go offer $250 for it after wasting their time ticking off all the little things that need work.

In my market this is a $200 bike. If I was the first seller I’d be happy that it’s someone else’s issue to sell and that I have $200.

What a shmuck!

Is SF a high priced market? YES.

Do people know what they’re buying? YES.

Hardly a good deal. Marvelous bikes in that market in the same price range.

The reseller is a shmuck, I’ll say it again!

Here's a serviceable rider for a reasonable price in this Covid-19 market. Raleigh Super Course w/ Reynolds 555, pantographed fork crown. Appear to be Presta alloy rims.
Not crazy about the droopy chain or the adjustable stem, but still worth the $125 ask. Posted 11 days ago? Maybe it's the flat tires?

You've got to look closely at the Raleighs from this time period. That is not Reynolds 555 it is "Raleigh 555 SL" tubing. Lot's of debate on what this really is but I don't know if the real answer has ever been determined. I think it bears a looking at too for only $125.

The replacement of the drivetrain on this with low-end Shimano is a shame but this is still an extremely good Terry frame (Tange 1) if you have an old Cyclone lying around.

^^^^^^ Someone forgot to calculate the Stumpy Tax.

Better derailleurs and pedals would cure most of the cheap-driveline blues on that Terry. Dang, a WSD Tange 1 frame, that's a find.
