Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

So I went by to schedule another mouse DNA injection and was reminded that it's not a patient's marketplace in witch doctor world.

Someone in front of me was discussing making an appointment for a once-upon-a-time patient, or something.

"You might want to tell him it could be a while before he sees someone. I'm making appointments for August."

The bike shop I was in today had a Wahoo Bolt? display. First time I'd ever seen one. I guess I can see the draw, if that's what floats your boat.

I have redacted the same sentence from two different comments this afternoon : bday:

seedsbelize thanks for the general tip in your signature on the Shimano 600 bearing surface curvature. I'm sure it will come in handy one day if I ever figure out what it means.

I may or may not own six watches.. Two are Garmins and don't count. Three are watches that I'm pretty sure I have but can't locate. One is on my wrist.

That's weird.

Yeah. I've never seen "v-brake only" rims.

Question

When making pancakes (flapjacks), do you make enough to have one or more days of leftovers?

On sat morning there two group rides in yorktown. I havnt ridden with them yet but I can get you the details if you are interested.

Never. Leftover pancakes go to the trash

back home, ac/heat guy fixed the heat. A motor burnt up, swapped it out good to go. Went to the air and space museum it was under reconstruction so everything I was stoked to see was under wraps. Got to see some cool space stuff, helped me reinforce my life decision to not become an astronaut.
Saw marine one heading to pick up trump from the airport. And dc traffic sucks.

I make a full recipe or double recipe, whatever I expect will cover the meal. Whatever is left over is left over.

There are exceptions. Some things are better as leftovers, 'specially saucy stuff like stews. While pancakes are not better the second time around, but they do store and reheat well.

Unfortunately for me, many of those saucy things that improve also hurt my stomach; we had to give up on slow-cooker stews because of that. Pancakes are sorta ok, but I'd rather make the right amount and not reheat. Mind, this is partly because of too many bad experiences with leftovers as a child that left me hyper-aware of the textural and taste changes.

Conte's? They do rides on Tues and Sat, at least according to their calendar. I cruised by one of those days on my last trip here and it was crickets - no one there.

I saw another group meeting up at a park along the Cap Trail, can't remember if it was Sat or Sun, but I was already at the tail end of my ride and didn't feel like investigating.

No leftovers today. But in general, left over pancakes and waffles get frozen and then reheated in the toaster. Works amazingly well for waffles. Hence the popularity of frozen waffles.
