So I went by to schedule another mouse DNA injection and was reminded that it's not a patient's marketplace in witch doctor world.

We had a fantastic club ride today. Start temps were around 18 but slowly warmed up and was in the mid 20s within an hour. The sun was bright, the wind was calm, and the route had only a few small ice patches. We only had 6 riders but still 100% fun and way better than the trainer.

I went to pickbup my 12 spokes, this morning, and had a second look at the single rim they had for sale. $18. Seemed a fair price. And I was there and it was there. I bought an eight speed chain for the same reason. They're getting harder to find. Anyway, I got home and read the very fine print: "For use with V-brakes only". I'm gonna use it with caliper brakes. Will it asplode?

I ended up doing some remote work at home stuff today because my youngest, the boy, has had a temperature and a nasty cough. I finally got over my pancake craving by making some at home because the boy loves them. I think it was just good enough to keep me away from the CB this weekend.

back home, ac/heat guy fixed the heat. A motor burnt up, swapped it out good to go. Went to the air and space museum it was under reconstruction so everything I was stoked to see was under wraps. Got to see some cool space stuff, helped me reinforce my life decision to not become an astronaut.

There are exceptions. Some things are better as leftovers, 'specially saucy stuff like stews. While pancakes are not better the second time around, but they do store and reheat well.

Unfortunately for me, many of those saucy things that improve also hurt my stomach; we had to give up on slow-cooker stews because of that. Pancakes are sorta ok, but I'd rather make the right amount and not reheat. Mind, this is partly because of too many bad experiences with leftovers as a child that left me hyper-aware of the textural and taste changes.

No leftovers today. But in general, left over pancakes and waffles get frozen and then reheated in the toaster. Works amazingly well for waffles. Hence the popularity of frozen waffles.
