Downtube Mini with internal hub electric assist?

Hi all,

I'm not ready to buy anything at this point, but I am curious. I got a Downtube Mini with an internal hub awhile ago and it's great. Since I live in the bay where there are lots of hills I would eventually like to add electric assist. Any ideas on this? I'd have to set up the system for the front wheel afaik. I looked at Bionx and you lose a lot of functionality when you set it up for front wheel use. Hopefully they will rectify that in the future. Any other suggestions?

Cheers,

David H.

I'd be a little wary on ebiking a small wheeled bike as this. They are already twitchy enough and adding boosts of power to a front wheel can give you control problems IMHO esp in a city environment. I would feel better about 20" wheels and ebiking. Even then, I would prefer a 26" wheel.

I don't believe I've seen a motorized Downtube Mini but there are several Downtubes models with motors. Heres a few
