home lives in my heart

and in my breath

and in the unsaid exchange

of loving glimpses

too much time working from home at the moment

There were a bunch of them feeding. She picked a flower and it followed her. I heard my name, turned around and saw, got two exposures before it flew away. It was her birthday, which makes the shot that much sweeter. First and last time I've ever seen them.

This was in the Uintas in eastern Utah.

We have hummingbird clearwing moths around here but I've only seen them a couple of times - always a treat, but hard to photograph!

The Ricoh GRIII attracts more attention from curious photographers when it includes my new wide angle attachment.

Not exactly a wild place. She crawled out of the water right by me! If I'd known I'd see something like this I would have brought my 5D but the best camera is the one you have on you.

Big yawn! Nap time in the sun.

Shy. Go away human.

Ok. Say bye.

If you had brought your 5D she would never have come out of the water by you, guaranteed. You did well with what you had.

I thought you would get a kick out of that. 🙂

What Darrington lacks in Mont Blanc, it makes up for in meth. When people call it the Chamonix of the NW, it's for a laugh. The place has world class hiking and climbing, but ... the apres ski culture is perhaps a bit lacking.

The view from Whitehorse, Darrington WA.
