Everything in the house for a wheelbuild tonight (or this week)!
I will be building a new wheel for the Gazelle tandem, converting it from the outdated Dutch/British standard of 650A or 26 x 1 3/8 (37-590mm) to the somewhat more common 650B (44-584mm) with wider tyres.
Ryde Andra 40 rims should offer plenty of strength and the 5-speed IGH drum brake hub should offer a bit more range than the old Sturmey Archer AB hub with its 3 speeds.

Father's Day gifts, delivered on the 'new normal' schedule. Too bad they are cotton - cannot wear them when cycling. To the store, garden parties and debutante balls only.

My wife found them on some Facebook site.

Today I received what is likely an anachronism from the past but it sure was nice to get. It came from a BF member who apparently remembers how nice it is to communicate with others. To the member; Thanks for reminding me how nice it is to help one another! Smiles, MH

Heel supports

These days I don't take my truck much. Most of the things I do are within a few miles of home. Weather has been good. Why drive? So I want to ride different bikes without having to switch shoes upon arrival. Campy/clips too narrow for work boots. Harder to get my sneakers out of them than cycling shoes. Half-clips ok, but like a convertible with the windows up... So I keep looking. These look awesome, and fit my boots perfectly. Perhaps a tinkering machinist? Have a truck errand now, but later...

Light Alloy... Production or machinist one-off?
Recumbent design?

1228 is a fantastic table that is highly under r rated. Running one through a pioneer sx950 and DCM Time Windows.
could not be happier. Enjoy!

Shimano A600 pedals - scratched

I got what seem to be the last pair of Shimano A600 pedals directly from Shimano, but they were clearly used - scratched pretty significantly and one of them had some latex paint or something around the threads. It came right off. I got a good price, and can't really find them online anymore. I dunno, do I keep them, or return a pre-beaten up product that was supposed to be new?

Today was a good day!
I got a box from Bianchigirll with some pad holders for Modolo brakes, and a mystery box from South Korea. Two boxes of dental face masks from the country who got the corona virus under control by using them. My friend from Seoul is a good friend indeed. An interesting aside as I am sitting here in week 15 of house arrest due to the virus. Smiles, MH

Lots of stuff today....
10s Veloce cassettes, 13-29
Tektro R559 brakes for my 650b conversion trial. Not sure I like them over a decent setup of LS2.8 schwinn brakes but I'll try them.
Snagged a deal on some Bicycle Research tools for rim and tires. No reason really, just always had them at the shop WBW.
And finally the bike I've been waiting for for over 6 weeks. I can't wait to get it apart and cleaned up. The bike was cheap, the boxing and shipping, not so much.

Veloce Cassettes, Tektro brakes and Bicycle Research tools

I like these kind of boxes...

This is as purchased. The bike was cheap, the boxing and shipping... not so much.

Two Continental Race 28 inner tubes. I'd post pictures, but I wouldn't want anyone to get over excited.

I got a new Rock Shox 30 fork for my 2001 Raleigh M60. The original fork was a Jett fork that was recalled in 2002. I didn’t know about it till I was reading posts in Bike Forums. SRAM shipped me the new fork without hesitation at all. I may become a SRAM convert on my next bike.

Crap! I opened the box - and they're Race 28s! Well, I'll keep them anyway...

Now I gotta order four more - hope they send the right size this time!

Two 27x1 1/8" Paselas from Walmart.

Didn't want to buy from Walmart, but it was the best total price I found online, $63.

Today was like Christmas.

What started as "I am looking for 26 x 1-3/8 rims (590's)" post in the ISO thread at first led to the gifting of a set of lovely chromed steel rims that will set my late uncle's Superbe back on the road in better condition, and then some additional communication with cudak888, who was in the right place at the right time to scavenge some great wheel parts as the Line fleet in Miami was getting tossed. What arrived today was all that he was able to lay hands on and pack up for a chance at a new life up in these parts. Wheels got disassembled to fit nicely into the two boxes. There's fixings here for 3 sets of alloy wheels with dyno hubs and 3-speed IGH's.

This will give a new lease on life to a late 60's Raleigh Sports that's been languishing in the project queue and also an older, basic black Robin Hood (which is going to get built up as a non-destructive, upgraded "Bumble Bee" machine). The Sports is definitely going to be moved along as is likely the Robin Hood - hopefully to a local home that will get good use from them. Whatever I won't be able to use in-house will get offered to help get some other bicycles back on the road locally.

Oh. To re-iterate. Kurt's an A+ fellow whom I've known through BikeForums for as long as he's been here. He asked me to make sure to let folks know that his window to collect usable parts from the ride-share bikes in his area has closed. There are no more that he can obtain.

For those who may be unfamiliar with "Bumble Bee"

This bright yellow set of hoods were waiting for me when I got home from a day of torrential downpours, howling winds, hail and lightning storms.

Made my day!

Majorly bright yellow!
