My daughter was in Girl Scouts for six years. Imagine if you will, six weeks out of every year where there would be 15-18 cases of cookies in your house on any given day.

I probably single-handedly ate 10 boxes a year.

You bought a single serving of Thin Mints? That's barely enough for a cup of coffee. What did you do for the other 23 hours and 45 minutes of the day?

Probably my favorite marketing ploy of all time is the story about the Girl Scouts that set up shop outside a pot dispensary in one of those Left Coast states.

Yup they are smart and use their cuteness to melt the hearts of people. I fall for those cookies several times every year. In fact I’m going to the fridge and get those thin mints right now.

We only buy from the older girls now. The little ones rely too much on the cuteness factor. For teens to stick with it shows some real commitment-- my daughter sold less boxes with every passing year, not for lack of trying, but because she would invariably end up at a booth with a tiny one, and that kid would end the season with thousands of boxes sold.

yes! Today the young one was the front as the two older ones were in the background handling the inventory. A week ago the girl’s father was mimicking as a fisherman reeling you in. That was funny. My blood sugar just picked but I don’t care those cookies are good.

This is the first year that I seem to have noticed a reduction in them coming to the door. I'm not seeing as many in front of the market either.

Where I used to work we had a very aggressive father trying to get as many orders for his daughter as he could. He was a drivier and he would take orders from every one of his stops. I'm not sure if they won any awards... but I used to cringe every time I saw him walk through the door.

Yeah I could see girl scout psycho dad similar to psychotic little league dad. So far buying cookies have been pleasant no overkill tactics and very polite scouts and parents.
