3,779 feet of climbing today. I mapped this route years ago and wanted to get it done before my surgery next week. Kind of wonder why, in retrospect. The last canyon (there were 3) was an absolute killer, but fun to coast down the other side.

A friend asked when I was going to ride to his house, which is about 50 miles away, and given its location, will require riding back home. Shooting for Monday, and that'll be a wrap for a couple months.

June Goal: 300 miles

I'm off to a late start this month posting, but I've ridden every day in June so far.

June 1 - 21.0 miles
June 2 - 20.4 miles
June 3 - 12.7 miles
June 4 - 10.4 miles

June to date: 64.5 miles

2020 to date: 952.2 miles

2020 goal: 2100 miles

All my miles are outdoor miles, on a 2011 Fuji Absolute 3.0 unless otherwise noted.

Thanks. It's not really all that serious, I've got a hammer toe that has dislocated and contorted so it makes wearing bike shoes (and anything other than sneakers) a new adventure in pain, and I fairly quickly decided it was worth the effort of treating. They're going to shorten the bone, straighten the toe out, put a screw in to keep it straight, and fuse it so it really can't do that again. It won't move much after that, but it doesn't move much now, and the sooner I get it done, the sooner I can go back to enjoying long rides. It hasn't stopped me from doing the rides, but it's taken a lot of the fun out of it, and I already have plenty of things that do that in my life.

I got fitted for my boot yesterday and got the laundry list of things that COULD go wrong and the consequences, like losing the toe, or the foot, but I almost lost the other leg a couple years ago, and if I can beat that infection, a toe correction will be easy peasy. And as a plus, I get a handicap parking placard for several months, so I've got that going for me.

Was going to be an off day because of thunderstorms. But barely made it to the garage at 5.2 miles before the bottom dropped out . Very humid this morning but I’m glad I went ahead and got a ride in .

What a day yesterday, I was putting the bike on the car and noticed that the chain was worn. After a short morning ride, I finished changing the chain, then I noticed a funny looking line on my seat tube. It was a crack that goes more than half way around the seat tube.

I peeled some paint off to see if it was a crack or a scratch in the paint.
I think that I would be safe to ride it, since this is the top of the seat tube and the seat post is in there.
Well, all my friends think that having multiple bikes is extravagant or wasteful. Good thing I have a few bikes and a fall back road bike.
Since fathers day is around the corner, it's new frame time, Ti.
It's too bad, this was my old Waterford that I got for real cheap.

Taking Sunday off .
yesterday I pulled a muscle around my right ankle and aggravated my old shin injury (Bone bruise )
Both are bothering me today ,
I figured I overdid it yesterday and now , I need to rest it . I never learn . Need to limit my rides to less than 6 miles for now .
hopefully I’ll be back at it tomorrow.

We need a don’t like button for aggravating old injuries and wrecks and cracked frames and what not. I hope you feel better soon.
