FS: 1988 Schwinn Tempo 21" (Phoenix, AZ), 53cm
Hello All,
I have a 1988 Schwinn Tempo for sale. Lets see:
I have a 1988 Schwinn Tempo for sale. Lets see:
- 21" (53.5cm) frame.
- Full 12 speed (2x6) Shimano 105 group. Even still has the quick Release safety clips on the front hubs.
- Original 70mm Cinelli Stem and 40mm Cinelli handlebars.
- 23mm Continental tires are good, but a little firm. Would probably be a good idea to replace in the near future.
- Original Wolber GTX show little wear.
- Has some scratches and paint chips here and there. The top tube on the drive side has a long scratch.
- New KMC Chain.
- I don't have the original pedals. I'll look for an extra set.
- Link to TRFindly Schwinn catalog spec page: Schwinn catalogs, 1981 - 1990 (346 of 456)
- Please ask any questions or additional pic requests.
- Asking $200.00 OBO. Prefer to sale local sale only. I live in Goodyear, AZ, but can meet just about anywhere in the Valley.

^ agree with this. Heckuva deal.
FWIW, The scrapes on the top tube are the easiest touch up job a person could ask for. A white paint pen and some damp 1500 grit to feather the edges. Good to go!

Dagnabbit... if this was the 1987 version in teal and white, I'd have to buy it just for nostalgic sake! The Schwinn Tempo was my first road bike that I bought for myself when I was 14 years old.
It's kind of amazing how much has changed since then... no more down-tube shifters, no more toe clips, no more steel frames, no more Benotto bar tape (unless you're nuts) Then there's BioPace... hehehe...

Good Morning,
I looked into shipping at my LBS. It was really expensive. Around $150-$200 if I remember right. That's why I thought I'd try to sell local. Anyway, just throwing that out there.
