Lady screaming in Trader Joe's

On the news they were showing some lady that was coming unhinged due to the fact that the employees were telling her about the mask requirement in the store and asking her to leave. As she was being led out she was yelling "I can't wear a mask, I have a breathing problem,,,,". For someone with a breathing problem she sure was able to load her lungs up with a lot of air and yell for an extended period of time.

I wonder if this is just a result of some people not being able to take it anymore and they are the first to crack?

Lots of mental illness out there too. COVIDs even more of a challenge for that demographic.

Some people are getting tired of it, but there is no need to scream.

And I think they compound matters by talking to the media. I would try to remain as anonymous as possible. Who want to hire/continue employing someone who can lose their cool like that? If she were to "go postal" at work I can just see the law suits alleging the employer had warning this woman could snap. And when you have a B.S. excuse it sounds even worse. When this story first got national attention she claimed that a male customer was on her about not wearing a mask and that she reacted like any normal woman would to a potentially creepy guy harassing her. No. A normal woman would walk away and alert an employee. He entire story sounds like a fabricated excuse to justify her behavior.

Some people do not do well under pressure. I've been involved with sailing most of my life. As a consequence of that interest, I've made a point of learning everything I can about that activity including disaster behavior and survival at sea. I know from my reading survival accounts, most of which were due war time sinkings, that a surprising number of people completely lose composure to the point that they die, sometimes deliberately slipping over the side of a life boat. The principal characteristic of those who do best is the capacity to keep moving forward and hoping for the best. Bascialy, they never give up.

I seek out gravel roads as far away from people as I can get from my garage. A Karen might go psychotic and try to run me over. In today’s world it wouldn’t shock me

A very lonely railroad crossing lol...

Those people with a "Breathing Problem" are the ones that need to be most careful around the virus.

This woman obviously has some issues she is dealing with perhaps mental health related.
I'm not sure circulating videos of her freaking out is helping anybody, certainly not her.

Which woman? There are two. And should we suppress video of the two lawyers pointing guns at people walking on a public sidewalk? They clearly have “problems.” Floyd’s killer clearly has “issues.” Better let him free, get him some tissues and a nice hospital bed.

Plenty of individual shops are deciding what their comfort levels are, for reopening. I'm happy to see that some are taking the threats very seriously indeed. Most-effective method I've seen: posting a couple of staffers at the entrances to ensure every potential customer knows the requirements for entry, and where folks not complying (ie, "no shoes, no shirt, no mask, no service") get turned away. Can't see it as a "screaming" matter, as there's always another store down the road that has different "standards."

Strange, to see so many showing their baser natures, these days. It's in them. And stressful, powerless times prod some to show their colors. Takes all kinds.

Myself, on a couple of occasions, I've approached a shop and didn't have PPE with me. Was a little cranky, on both of these occasions, but kept it to myself. Saw the sign or got word from the door monitor, that requirements for entry required PPE. I just turned around and went elsewhere. Wasn't that person's fault. Wasn't up to me to dictate terms to them for their comfort levels or their "standards" for shop operations. Wasn't my place to assault anybody over my personal issues. And, no amount of grousing was going to change a thing. <--- Better way to handle things, I think.

^seems like there have been a few people that wore masks to gain admittance to whatever store, then lowered/removed said mask at some point to make some ridiculous point, usually via social media.
wth is that all about? bye bye. take your act elsewhere. if you can't be considerate towards the employees and fellow customers (regardless of personal beliefs/thoughts of the issues) under these circumstances,
then you're pure and simply a(n) you know what.

same. forgot a mask one day. was not at all upset for my lack of personal responsibility being thrust back in my face. kudos to that business for turning me away for the greater good. have since returned (with mask) and will keep doing so.
some things are more important than money altho it's hard to consistently prove.

As to individual shops. Here is a sign on the door of a vintage clothing store:
"We'll be happy to debate the efficacy of masks with you when this is all over and you come in to sell your dead grandmother's clothes,
TL;DR: Masks required"

I’ve heard the male Karen is a “Kyle” but I don’t think it’s a common enough name to have the same bite

I just returned from the grocery store HEB and masks were required. If you don’t have one they will provide one for you. No Karens or Kyles but it was in the morning. I see people having fun with their masks all kinds of crazy designs. Heck my mask has KISS Destroyer album cover that draws a few funny looks and laughs but that is the whole point of why I have it. The carts are all disinfected and everyone was very respectful toward each other but maybe because it is a small town. There is a notorious Karen in town and when she enters a store the employees set off the alarm like Oh no her she comes get ready for interrogation her poor husband if he is with her everyone likes he just puts his head down and he looks all beaten down from living with a Karen. Now everybody is taking this serious like they did at first then everything went willy nilly and we have a major spike.
