It was an idiot wind on The Mountain Saturday... felt like my front wheel had a mind of its own.

A shot from my recent trip to the Coachella Valley, specifically near the 1000 Palms oasis not far from Palm Desert and I-10, with Mt. San Jacinto in the background.
The bike is my brand-spanking new Rithchey Break-Away, which is Tom Ritchey's alternative to the S&S coupler system for breaking a frame in half for packing in a suitcase, out on its break-in voyage. Works as advertised and rides very nicely.
And to prove that I was close to Palm Springs, here is a close-up of the bottle you can see by the rear wheel in the photo above. Even the roadside trash is for old people.
You can't make stuff like this up.

Avila Road Hill Repeats in Concord on Saturday 3/7 during a short break in the rain.
7 repeats for 2,600 ft. in 11 miles. https://app.strava.com/activities/251775193
The angle of the fence perfectly reflects the 10% grade.

This is a very random, gross and painful picture!
I sure wish I could ride. "Only" a little more than 4 weeks of nails in my big toe!!!
Still better than a cast!
I am going crazy, so I will go finish putting my old Serotta back in working order!
And clean and adjust my other 2 plus the mountain bike!
And then work on my old Citroen and make sure not to drop a tool on my toe! (ouch)
Yes you guessed it I am going crazy!

Mommy, mommy look! Shrek is on top of Mt. Diablo! Take a picture, take a picture!
I often look at this pic from right before I took up cycling. Thanks cycling!

I have some old photos I recently found in a folder. Here's one, from the mid 80s. I'm on an American Lung Assoc. three-day wine country ride.

A Coyote hunting up some lunch. Photo taken from the Papa Bear Climb on Bear Creek Road.
I always enjoy seeing a barb wire fence gauge the grade steepness. (About 9.5% here.)

Even more impressive is that someone had to be riding alongside taking the picture. I'm guessing it was Midland, the very embodiment of the moniker "spindly-legged climbing fart." As in: "I hate those spindly-legged climbing farts," a sentiment this Clydesdale utters several times on an average hilly ride.

Hey, I know some great flat roads you could ride; the h3ll with those skinny whippersnappers.
The almond orchards are nearly peaking, with the plums and cherries and peaches close. There will be post-ride food and drink. *dangles carrot*

Hmmmm, he says, mind working overtime (there isn't much unused memory left in my mind and a lot of malware has crept in over the years, plus my brain is still running Windows95, so the CPU runs kinda sluggish). Sounds like big fun. I think I'm booked this weekend, but I think the weekend of the 28th-1st is open *snatching wildly at dangled carrot*

It's a date. Let's bring back the hosted NorCal rides.
Anyone else want to ride Vacaville/Winters/Dixon flats with optional hills? All are welcome. As is our norm, this is no-drop, social & fun. With enough people we can have a potluck social after. Weigh in and let's have some fun!

More riding in circles this past Valentine's Day in Folsom.
Also a NorCal group ride sounds like fun!
