Yeah, not to bad timewise. I'm riding with a group at 5am every morning during the week, and an hour later on the weekends. Maintaining a touch of fitness. Only intervals are threshold and Vo2max - haven't done WRIs™ in years

Not racing - not even sure why I'm doing intervals. I relaxed the diet a bit. More comfortable, and let's just say I'm REALLY good in a headwind now lol.

How you all doing?

I did a real recovery ride on Zwift last night. 46 mins with a NP of 125W. I think I'm going to try doing this in lieu of full-blown rest days for a bit and see if any marginal gains are gotten.

My coach loves the low power high cadence recovery rides. I find that the higher cadence and low power makes my ass sore. The goal is the least amount of power at 100 rpm that will increase HR. Too much power and you pick up additional fatigue.

I see no downside but potential upside assuming you like doing them.

Boy howdy it made my crotch sore. I was getting out of the saddle just to relieve pressure.

I am a firm believer in those sorts of easy rides, though I do not aim for any particular rpm. I just try to keep the cadence on the high end of comfy and the watts nice and low.

I did my first vo2 workout today and it went quite well. That said I had to chop a minute off my last couple of intervals because my arms were failing (lots of out of the saddle). So I am going to have to do pushups I guess.

Hit a 323w 20 min this morning, weight at 145 lbs, although 146 (+ or -2) if I'm being realistic. I think that could go down 2 lbs with some focus, much more than that would require big changes.

I've got some good momentum with training and hopefully I can push that ratio farther up next time! Breaking 4.7 at FTP would be a first for me.

Track workout at Velo Sports Center. 2xflying accelerating kilos with training partner. The 3x3k team pursuits with partner and motor. This was an extremely fun workout and sorely needed high end work.

Kitted up last night, clipped in, set off, felt a weird clunk. headset was loose. Went inside to tighten and found the expansion plug had slipped. Went to re-seat the plug and the expansion nut came unthreaded and fell into the fork. I unkitted, then spent the rest of the evening glueing the "AirPlug" that the TCR came with and cleaning my old bike up for selloff. Man, I sure am collecting red boxes on TP

I'm in this weird transition between having fitness but not having enough daylight to complete my workouts outside, but also losing motivation because I'm riding Zwift while it's sunny outside for 80% of my workout...

I know that the right terrain is integral to executing a prescribed workout. Notwithstanding that, I have started workouts outdoors and finished them on the trainer and vice versa. Go outside and complete 80% of the workout and finish the balance on Zwift, if feasible.

Headed out early for a 3 hr z2/3 romp before work but decided that I needed to get to work a little sooner so I cut things shorter and ended up with:

70' Z3
1x20' on Fiesta with 2' 95% / 1' 105%
1x10' on Fiesat at 101%
1x3' 120% up Linda Vista road, for 2,25 hrs total.

A 45' z1/2 spin home after work will round things off before taking tomorrow off. Easy Friday, then P/1/2 Tour de Murrieta this weekend! It should be fun because two of our rides are more than capable of mixing it up and getting results with KHS Elevate there, especially in the circuit race. For me I'll just be trying to make myself useful somehow

I've been trying to be better about doing these, I definitely feel better the next day. On the other hand, I also look forward to the rare day that I don't have to be on a bike..so it's usually a decision I make that night. If the stress of getting on the bike starts crossing my mind, I'll skip it.

First workout last night with the wife watching and following the USAC concussion protocol for HR/power output. Tough to go that slow when you can still feel the fitness. Went great.

Today......did 1xSS for about 25 min. Top 50 out of 600 to 700 on the Innsbruck climb. Plus that meter is the wonky one that reads 20w lower than the other ones I have. Kept it to 45min total with easy warmup and cool down. It's still there. I'm going to stay out of the hard stuff a bit longer and ease into some tempo/SS stuff indoors. Then get back into the tough stuff later. Plenty of time before I "need" to do anything with the fitness again.

The first team weeknight worlds is next week on Thursday. Too soon for outdoor stuff. I'll setup the trainer and do work while they are out and pal around afterwards. Says for mine I need to not re-injure for 3 weeks. Which is fine.

The legs and rest of body are great. Just gotta take care of that noggin.

accepting the sad reality of what appears to be 20w reduction in FTP after just a week of vacation. Did 4x5min @ 108% (was supposed to be 7x5). This was 297w, where my old threshold was 295 so that was sad lol It was also tough, I might have made it for all 7 but I've got the lack of intensity+lower threshold psyching me out. My HR was definitely in the hurt zone (176bpm) at the 5min mark
