Campy bar-end shifters

I currently have bike with a mixture of Campy Mirage and Veloce nine-speed components. I would like to go to bar-end shifters. Is it possible to use the current Campy ten-speed shifters, and install a nine-speed cam, or do I need to search for a set of nine-speed shifters as NOS?

Thanks!

Bikes: I never learned to ride a bike. It is my deepest shame.

I believe a J-Tek shiftmate is available for mating Campy 10 speed shifters with Campy 9 speed drivetrain. I have heard the Shiftmates work well.

Bikes: too many bikes from 1967 10s (5x2)Frejus to a Sumitomo Ti/Chorus aluminum 10s (10x2), plus one non-susp mtn bike I use as my commuter

If you can locate the right cam, you can convert the 10s levers to 9s, no problem.

That's for the Ergos, but do the bar ends use the same design? I wouldn't have thought it'd be room for it in a bar end shifter.

No problem on the barcons. I'm running a Veloce triple crank with Mirage 9 sp ders. My LPB orderded the Ergo, $10. and that's all she wrote. The Jtek mentioned above is the #1. You can use it to mate pre 2001 set of shifters with a post 2001 rear der. That's an undocumented fix though.

Good luck on the barcons. They work great.

+1 on the Jtek. It works extremely well and, if you decide to go to 10-speed anytime in the future, the barends are ready to use as is.
