Castelli jerseys - re: stitched sleeve ends and new purchase
I have accumulated three Castelli jerseys over the years (see first pic below). Recently got new Entrata V jersey and the sleeve ends are unstitched (see pics 2 and 3 below).
Does this look normal? Wouldn't it unravel eventually with use? Or, is it a new aerodynamic less drag more speed thing?
I have emailed Castelli U.S.A. these questions and pics also. I was going to wear it on this morning's ride too.

I think it's just something new. I've seen shorts made that way as well.

I’m guessing it’s a newer kind of material that does not fray at the edge, so there is no need for a hem.

Normal, my Castelli climbers jerseys have sleeves like that, haven't had any issues with them and I've been wearing them for almost a year now. They lay nice and flat (providing it's sized for a snug fit).

I'm not sure about the complete lack of a hem on the fabric, but all of the newer jerseys I have no longer include the elastic bands around the ends of the sleeves.
I personally love this change and always hated how those bands squeezed my upper arms and make the sleeves bunch up.

Congratulations. Eliminating that finished edge is just like adding 0.0000000000000000000006 watts of power.

From Castelli U.S.A.
Thank you for writing us! The newer version of the jersey is a laser cut edge which bonds the ends of the fabric, it was designed this way so it lays flatter on the arm. You shouldn’t have any issues with it coming unraveled, let us know if you have any other questions!

It's the new style. I personally am a fan since they tend to stay on my arm rather than ride up it...if that makes any sense. I found that the older style ribbed jerseys bunch up my biceps while I'm and becomes uncomfortable.
