Chainwheel looks like BSA and does not have tubular Raleigh forkcrown. Probably a BSA from pre- Tube Investments era, i.e., pre- ‘57.

Get in your car and go get it. Early BSA track bike with chrome frame, skip tooth crank, and wood rims. What's not to like.

I would agree it is late 20's or 30's competition level track bike made by BSA or maybe Archer or Cummings which BSA bought around this time. It has the Archer Design Arrow head crank set and full polished nickel plate so no doubt on dating. As for value II'm with wrk101 buy it now if you interested and it's anything under $1000.

I was there and saw the bike.
The owner said it is a Raleigh frame.
I will be back with more details of the person who raced the bike in the earlies 30's.
The owner himself raced BMX bikes in 80's and has a bunch of high end BMX stuff.
How can a 6'2" guy race BMX bikes ???!!!???

Did you see the bike, or was only the picture?
Because, I saw it, hanging in the garage, together with the Basso.
I will go there again in the coming days, i still have to pick up some prewar bikes.

Kinda cool. I wonder if the two bikes were ridden by a 6-day team. Fun to think there might be a connection. The one I know is identical. BSA crank, chrome, adjustable stem no name on the bike.
