I had my annual physical in the morning, mowed the lawn in the afternoon then spent the day playing with new bike parts and a new pair of cycling shoes and all around goofing off. I had to do a few miles just to see how the shoes felt. I got some Lake shoes, they feel so good, I'm going to see how they feel on a longer ride tomorrow. I got a new stem for the Bianchi, 20 mm longer the the old one. I'm trying to fine tune the fit on all my bikes.

This June I went over 400 miles--for the year.
Taking my first tour starting tomorrow. (I had to cancel the MT and ID trip.) Three days. 60 miles tomorrow. It will be my longest ride of the year. Day ride from camp on Thursday. Probably 35 to the train on Friday.

Nowhere special. Train from Philly to Cherry Hill Township in NJ, then down to a state forest campground in a place called Woodbine. Decent enough spot that is only running at 50% capacity. Friday I will likely ride to the coast and then up to Atlantic City for a train home. I should have been in MT and ID for two weeks starting June 13th. Not only did Delta cancel my flights, but there were all sorts of logistical hurdles. As it turns out, it was a good thing. There was a big storm that moved through areas where I would have been. A foot of snow forecast for many places. Would have woken up on Day 4 to snow in ID and been unable to get over my unpaved pass back into MT. The pass I was supposed to ride on Day 5 was completely blocked.
One upside to touring locally this time of year, which I avoid doing like the plague due to the heat and humidity, is not having to pack for cool/cold weather like you do in the western mountains.

Any kind of tour sounds pretty good right now. Have fun!

Finished the month with 30.22 on 6/29 and 30.18 this morning, 6/30. This gives me a total of 804.2 Miles; not bad for a 64 year old and wow, just wow. Going to shoot for 1000 miles for July!

Hi all. Feel bad I didn't get a chance to ride today, but I have 413.36km / 256.85 miles for the month. My rides over 20km are on rail-trails; those under are on dirt and gravel paths. Took a few days away here and there for my bike to get its post-break-in-adjustment, going on a few hikes, and painting.
I'm also being a bit pensive today thinking about various things, as I turn 54 tomorrow. How did that happen? It least I'm healthier than I've been in a while and have a bike.

Finished June at 259 miles, 522 for 2020. Biggest June since 1991. It looks like medical issues will interfere with July rides, but if some procedures get delayed, goal is 325, with at least one 35 mile ride. Stretch goal is 77 km/46+ miles (age +1, b'day late July).
Thanks for the support, folks.
