If the description is true this might need it's own thread? Although the 1920s guess kind of shows that the seller isn't completely in the loop.

Edit... Headbadge is all wrong...

He said it was stamped a 56, and the seat tube does measure that, c-c. Unfortunately for me, the top tube is a half inch shorter. I really want to keep the original 3ttt stem and bars with the bike, so this one may be moving on. So gonna keep it low cost. The tubulars will be switched for Record/Mavic clinchers I have. And I have a Record seatpost and down tube shifters for it and a NR rear derailleur. Thinking about black Newbaum's tape and ride for a bit if it'll fit. Maybe put the brake levers lower than I normally would to help with the short top tube.

Seems odd that it's a TIG welded frame, being so old. I would say 86-88? Maybe there were no lugs available that would work. Or perhaps this is a Japanese or Taiwanese frame?

Sorry if double entry - computer is acting up
Unsure what seller means by "a tweaked chain stay and therefore is un-rideable"
Raleigh Competition in Portland for $100 less seat

Yes, 400 maybe. And THEN I'd have to be after a SCAPIN specifically.

Woodrup owner in Portlandia said a few days ago that he sold it. He couldn't delete the ad, and he said he didn't want a craigs account.
