Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Shavers

I figure that you guys would know the answer to my question the best;

I want to save money on razors, and since I'm moving in a few weeks, I'm thinking of getting an electric razor. What do you recommend? I want to be able to shave my legs and face and I know absolutely nothing about shavers.

I like my Braun a lot, but I've never used it on legs. I'd recommend a ladies model for leg shaving. Braun does some impressive engineering on their foils though.

FWIW: a blade is still faster. I only use the Braun if I can't shave at home and I'm sitting at a light in traffic.

Braun, definitely. Payed $100 for mine 6 years ago. You do the math.

I've used an electric shaver on my face for years. I'm not sure I'd recommend the same model for legs, though. The facial razors are shaped for the contours of the face and not the tight spots around your legs. But I suppose you could try...

I have a Norelco model with 3 circular cutters and it's lasted me more than 10 years. Only recently has the battery life started degrading (lasts for only a week between recharge--still a long time). It's awesome and I wouldn't hesitate to get a new one.

There are specific ones for legs. I use an electric on my face, but won't use it on my legs.

I recommend not getting an electric razor. That's my recommendation.

I go with the Gillete Fusion Power.

Now you know these personal hygiene questions always get colorful responses?
Just go to the Dollar store on Lorain rd. and get a bag of disposables for $1.Things could turn up missing when your traveling in Belgium.

Don't forget to post to the "home-slices" here when your over there.

Now all I see on here are ads for razors.

Like someone mentioned it's better to buy cheap razors. Electrics are made primarily for the face. I wouldn't recommend using them on your legs.

I worked part-time selling shavers in a Dept. store when I was at University. I cannot tell you the number of mens shavers that came back, defunct, because the lady of the house had been using them on her legs. The replacement blades aren't cheap.

Gillette Fusion. Bought the blades on eBay in a lot of 48 for $80. I'll be good for four years.

Check out the Panasonic wet/dry shavers. These and possibly the Brauns are the only electric I would consider. I have had bad luck with rotary shaver systems, they just don't work on me.

Here is an example:

I think I'm going to stay with razors for my legs, but I'm pretty sure I want an electric for my mug.

Any thoughts on the Philips Norelco? Or does something else reign supreme?

Oh yeah I forgot how convenient driving a normal car is. Sadly my car is from 72 so I wouldn't trust myself with a shaver while my foot is on the clutch and the engine stuttering randomly :/

I use a double edged razor on my face. Gives a far better shave than gillette fusion nonsense, and at £10 for 100 blades I'm happy! I used to use an electric razor on my face but it gave me really dry skin and irritation. Don't get these problems with a double edged razor.

I hear the epilady works really well for legs. That would be my recommendation.

??? Your asking the world at large how, or what is best for cutting hairs off ya' dang legs!

How about an instructional video on breathing? That could help with one of life's chores too.
