I actually need to calm down. I've done an in-training 3-mile TT and hit the first minute at 625W without knowing it. The last minute was only 340W as a result.

I wonder how many of us have ever actually dominated sub 10 minute prologue TTs? As I have not, I am not sure I should answer, but to get 'jacked' for all of my TTs I like certain music. Then channel anger and on the line bring up the breathing rate prior to take off.

Are you talking about Tucson Classic? Based on the profile you'll want to hold back maybe 5% for the first half then really pour it on for the 2nd half. WR is right, don't go out to hard, don't go out to hard, don't go out to hard.

The times in the 3's are around 8-9 minutes so if you have a power meter I'd guess you should aim for about 15-20 watts below your best 5 minute effort.

Red Bull usually does the trick for me. Drink it 20 minutes before your start.

Nope, I'm in the 2s. I'm number 200 in the Ranchos kit. Come say hi if you see me.

Try this: https://www.bodybuilding.com/store/usp/jacked.html

"USPLabs Jack3d gives you the mad aggressive desire and ability to lift more weight, pump out more reps and have crazy lasting energy, along with sick muscle-engorging pumps. Jack3d is easily the most intense pre-workout product you will ever want to use again. The amount of energy and focus is perfect, pumps and vascularity will be out of control, but most importantly you will feel great throughout your entire workout. No crash, no bloat, no headaches, no blow workouts."

5hr energy for me.

I too have to stare at the powertap in the first couple of minutes to not let myself go nuts.. I have a ~7 minute uphill tt in about a month where this is key.

Spoken like a Cat4 crit racer.

Preride the course the day before. Then duct tape a drool cup to your face and have at it.

Caffeine and sugar. If you're real crazy some BCAA and Na bicarb.

I was about to shoehorn myself into that group, then I remembered the TTT champs last year. I are not just a crit racer after all. I can drool too.
