I picked them out of a dingy, and dimly lit garage last night. Thought I had inspected them closely enough but unfortunately that means might not be the case.

Unknown rim transfer -
This image was posted on another forum.
One participant identified it as FIAMME. Have me doubts.
The only two devices I have ever seen on vintage S.A. FIAMME rim transfers are the knight's helm and the Pegasus.
This eagle's head with crown looks familiar but am unable to place it. Could it perhaps be part of the crest for an Italian city or province?

That is not a Fiamme rim decal. It's a quite rare decal. I have seen it before, but can't remember the brand. It could be an old logo version or rim model decal. The bird like creature looks like a griffin, but it could also be as you wrote an eagle. "Cerchio" is Italian for rim.

this is something have never known much anent
have a FIAMME allen key road stem from the mid-to-late 1960's

My example is 9cm and yours looks to be a 10 or eleven cm.
Just for fun mounted mine on a 1960's era Cinelli I owned. Spot of humour to fit a FIAMME stem on a Cinelli cycle.
FIAMME emplyed 26.0mm size for clamp and bar centre.

New to the forum but have a couple of wheelsets with Fiamme #3 rims fitted, as well as a number of #6 and 7 rims loose. Once I'm allowed to post pictures, I will share at least the #3 here. They are my favorite rims, at least aesthetically.

I take it that these rims are from Kopps in Princeton.They used to have at least two Cinelli bikes with "ridotti" sized rims. About 15 year ago I had done a census of bikes with ridotto rims in North America and found quite a few. Most being Cinelli but there were also a few Pogliaghi, at least one Masi...I can no longer find the list and it has likely been lost to eternity on some long ago discarded computer.

You can help Kopp's set a new record for the price of a Cinelli SC and get a bike with Ridotti rims for which you'll have to have Dugast make you custom tires in the bargain. Perhaps for an extra half-a-G they'll throw in that spare set of NOS Fiamme Red Ridotti rims.

Very Early Fiamme Rim?
A fellow enthusiast in the Netherlands passed along this photo of what I suspect is a very early Fiamme rim with both a decal and engraving that I have not seen before. The engraving to the right of the rim decal is familiar however the engraving to the left of the decal is not. The floor is open if anyone has any history to share.
Noting: Breveté SGDG was a French type of patent that ceased to exist in 1968. The name was a common abbreviation for "Breveté Sans Garantie Du Gouvernement“. (Wikipedia).
What is published of Fiamme’s history takes shape in the early 1930’s when Mario Longhi patented the double eyelet, hollow aluminium rim on January 5th, 1934 just two hours prior to a similar patent being filed by Mavic of France (source: Hilary Stone; Mavic). Longhi licensed the patent to Fiamme until its expiration and also to Mavic until 1947 according to the Mavic website. This may account for the engraving that includes the aforementioned French patent engraving (?).

A deep dive into the history of Fiamme and seems they beat MAVIC for their patent on tubular rims by 1 hour!!
