Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? I know, right? Gotta use it on something. Perhaps my '15 Cannondale Black Inc? Mmmmm.

Ok, looking to add some carbon-y bits, for the fun of it. I know where to snag on of these things for a good price and in, what should be, the correct length. We're just going to keep on with the '90s era theme here. Gotta be aero, man!

Picked up the aero seatpost after measuring planned saddle height and confirming that the seatpost would fit. It...didn't. Looked pretty good, if a bit hilarious. Still, looks like I'll use something else, and something much more traditional.

When I was younger, I would've killed to have a proflex MTB. RAD!

In the end, I am. It was fun to try it, and although the seat post looks cool to me (when not mounted to a bike and thus with no context), when on the bike it left much to be desired. A far cry from modern road and track bikes with their integrated seat masts. Now those look sweet.

I'll put another 27.2mm post in there, now that I know a 27.2 will work and not give me trouble.

I've been busy with other bike projects lately, namely building and prepping them for sale in the effort to reduce my fleet a fair bit. This has been back-burner'ed a bit, but I did work on it last night.

Still need to decide on a white or black saddle, but the white Prologo looks good with the carbon seat post. I mounted tubes and tires as well. Deda Tre RS Corsa 23mm tan walls, so that helps the wheels pop (and make it roll around the apartment easier and more quietly). Still working on sourcing a (used) crankset that will not cost a ridiculous amount and that will perform well. Viviani used a Dura-Ace 9000 crankset and big ring (no idea on how custom or stock it was) on his gold Pinarello track bike, and I do have an affinity to Shimano's upper-end Hollowtech II cranksets. For me/us mortals, it'd just be an issue of making sure the chain line works out.
